This wooden mankind looking elephant with his enormous feet is one of the weirdest in my collection and one the tallest, about 56cm. It has a African look and I'm not sure if it has a meaning or just made for fun.
It reminds me a preacher, who telling us to seize the day. So lets do that en enjoy ;-))
The town church Ludwigsburg is a Protestant church building in the core city of Ludwigsburg.
The town church was built between 1718 and 1726 by master builder Donato Giuseppe Frisoni as a baroque preaching church on the west side of the market square. Already in 1720, before the completion of the two towers, the office of a city councilor (tower-blower) had been established, which still exists today.

The itinerant preacher Heimerad worked on this mountain in the last years of his life. After his death in 1019 AD, a chapel was built over his grave in 1021 by order of Archbishop Aribo of Mainz. Many years later, in 1074, Archbishop Siegfried I of Mainz endowed a canonry, which was converted into a Benedictine monastery in 1081. Many years later, the monastery was also burnt down once, but rebuilt. In 1527, the monastery was abolished in the course of the Reformation. That's it.
This is a shot I love and was definitely a seize the moment image. I was on the Isle of Lunga, part of the Treshnish Islands, West of Mull. I was photographing a group of Puffins and this scene sparked up. When I got it back on the computer I couldn't believe how good it looked. Totally looked like a preacher preaching to his flock.

I've deliberately gone for a higher contrast presentation to this snap because I feel it's better suited to this type of photography and I'm trying to create a more journalistic approach to my street style snaps.

Guess even priests have bad days. I got inspired by the Diablero TV series which ended way too soon. If you're curious its based on a Mexican comic which mixes myths and legends with a touch of dark fantasy.

Sunrise at Preachers Point at Lake Abraham, there wasnt many large bubbles about and you really had to hunt about for them, this is looking in an easterly direction where the rising sun just started to catch the mountain tops.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Elstow, Bedfordshire is famous for its pious, dissident preacher and author John Bunyan who came from this village. His most famous work "The Pilgrim's Progress" has never been out of print. This was his local church and he rang the bells in the tower that stands alone and detached. His early influences were made here.
Countess Judith, niece of William the Conqueror, founded a Benedictine nunnery in Elstow in the year 1078. The Elstow nuns came from wealthy families and each came with an endowment of money and/or lands.
In 1538 Elstow Abbey was valued as being the eighth richest nunnery in England. On 26 August 1539, the Abbess was forced to surrender the Abbey, the manor of Elstow and all the Abbey's other lands and estates throughout England, to King Henry VIII, as part of his Dissolution of the Monasteries. Much was demolished and the Abbey would have been at least twice the size. The three windows and east wall were added around 1580.

Yosemite is an amazing place in the winter..the fog moves in and moves out so quickly. The lighting is constantly changing. I was overwhelmed at the sites.

The Story

McLeod Ganj is located at 1770 m above Sea Level.
The town is located 4 kms by foot( 9 kms by car) above Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. The town is a major tourist hangout and also features many trek shops for the Dhauladhar Range. You will also find friendly Tibetan monks, western food, budget hotels, video movies and congested shops selling Tibetan Souvenirs.
