Another one from the archives....
I have made so many genuine friends here on Flickr and not a day goes by when I don't think of you and thank God for your encouragement and support, not only on my photographs but in other aspects of my life as well. Each one of you makes an impact on my life through your words and pictures :)
Last October we had some lovely weather, and using my Tamron macro lens (wish I'd bought it sooner), I went out to the garden to see what goodies were out and about... this little fly was rubbing his hands with glee that there was still a little bit of nectar about in my nephews cornflowers (I think that's a cornflower......)
I'm sitting here thinking of what all I can be thankful for and listening to the rain belting off my windows, so I guess I'm just thankful I have a roof over my head and the rain is not coming through my front door like a river!

Waves of Prayer
Read Luke 22:39-46
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 (NRSV)
I stood on the seashore at sunrise for a moment of meditation. As wave after wave endlessly and quietly lapped at the beach, I was reminded of Paul's words, "Pray without ceasing."
When I was younger, I have to admit that I was confused by this verse. It seemed to imply that God did not always hear my requests the first time or perhaps would not answer them unless they were repeated over and over. I thought maybe it had to do with sincerity; I wasn't sure.
Now I have come to appreciate this verse as a reminder that underscores the benefits that prayer has on my life. Praying for family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers keeps me focused on people and on situations where God may be giving me an opportunity to help.
Like the waves, opportunities to seek out and focus on the will of God through prayer are never-ending. As we focus on people and life around us, this becomes our continued call to prayer.

Prayer. It's one of the fundamentals of the faith and direct line to the Father thanks to the Son.
We can communicate with and approach the Father with confidence and faith when we pray as He calls us to prayer and wants to hear from us often.
Don't just take my word for it but study The Word and see all God instructs you about prayer and the importance of it not only for you but as we have the privilege of interceding for others.
Make prayer a priority! In Jesus name I pray that you and I do so as prayer truly changes things and it's an honor to talk to The Lord too!

Sometimes you may feel like God hasn't heard your prayers when you don't receive an answer right away.
Let me encourage you that even in the silence God is at work and you have to realize that He knows what is best for you. You also need to remember that sometimes He says yes right away while others times He says...wait...not yet...maybe...or no my child.
You also need to realize what He may be trying to accomplish during this season and think about the growth He is helping facilitate in your life and the life of others during the time you are praying for what you are seeking Him about.
Don't get discouraged and remember once again that even in the silence, even in the waiting...God is working as He never sleeps or slumbers. Trust in His timing, purpose, will and plan!

I received one of the best gifts I have ever received fory my birthday. My friend Chrisi made this beautiful stitching for me and I LOVE it. I saw the quote and verse in a catalog a few months ago and I just loved it. Chrisi surprised me with it on my birthday (which was also HER birthday) and I fought hard to keep the tears back. :) I LOVE it!
