Project 366 (leap year). 60/366
To get good at something, we need to practice. I was once told by my tennis coach that practice makes permanents, not perfect. We are far from perfect in the things we do as improvements can always be made. That piece of advice, 14 years ago, is something that stuck with me to this day. Which brings me to today's picture. The picture taken is what I'm guessing is a kendo practice dummy. If it's not, then well, you still got a good piece of advice.
It may not look like it, but they're all holding onto a reflector that's underneath the frame, reflecting light back onto themselves. I absolutely cannot stress enough how much of a difference those white sheets of poster material made in this shoot.
General backstory for this shoot: I watched Peter Hurley's DVD recently and wanted to try some stuff out, and got some friends together to help me experiment. We did some headshots as best I could, and some other random stuff as well. Definitely a lot I could improve on, that's for sure.
This is my entry for Round Three in the Papercrafts Gallery Idol Competition (Found here: www.papercraftsmag.com/contests/gallery-idol-2010) where we were asked to use ribbon in creative ways. I was inspired by the book The Giving Tree and created my version with a twig, looped ribbon leaves and sheared off ribbon for the grass. This card also uses stamps from Practicing Creativity Designs and a SRM Sticker Sentiment.

Several males could be found vaguely sparring. These two had drawn blood but still found in the end that one backing down meant an avoidance of all out war.
I'm pretty pleased with Practice Head's latest incarnation. I was practicing for the old Rouleau's head, but this one turned out better

The best part of camp, is having the chance to practice first aid skills and lower a counselor down a cliff in a litter.
