Nothing too special, i was out last week wanting to test a new filter, i didnt use it for this shot. While i was out there was a nice sky formation and i wanted to practice with reverse grads ahead of my holiday to Northumberland (just 3 months to go). Despite having the grads 6 months i havent really given them a work out. This sky was made for them- i dont know what it is about filter slides when they just pop an image you cant help but smile, one they were worth the cost and two i dont need to sit at a computer and mess around editing, so much easier this way :)
Little Jeremy asked, "Mama! Mama! May I practice Trick or Treat?! I want to try on my ghost costume!"
"Yes, Jeremy! You certainly may! I'd like to get a photo of you all dressed up, too!"
"Will you give me candy if I yell Trick or Treat, Mama?"
"No, Sweetie- that is for the REAL Halloween! But you can practice the words, too, if you like!"

A newly inducted student moves to the field for a football practise

It is very old dating back to 1963.
PS : This is my Undergraduate ( a government institute) Alma mater from where I did my bachelors in Mechanical engineering.
I stayed in the same hostel during the period from 1992-1996.
I visited my alma mater again in Dec 2022 after passing out from it in 1996
Red-winged Blackbird landing on a young aspen tree. With the proliferation of new trees came many new feathered friends.

Having a go at flying shots , quite pleased with this one !! Am really enjoying playing with the settings on the new camera , deleting loads i am really good at that x
Another day of practicing panning shots. First time attempting this on motorcycles during a trackday at the TT circuit in Assen The Netherlands. Given the fact that motorcycles are smaller then cars you have an advantage and a disadvantage. Smaller in length makes the deviation in focus front to back smaller when not shooting perpendicular to the axis of movement. But smaller also means more focal length is needed which makes it harder. This one was shot at 500mm handheld with 1/80sec shutterspeed.
Shortly after weaning, young elephant seals progressively go into shallow inshore waters where they discover a new environment and learn how to use it. With no urgent need to find food, they quickly become curious about everything around them, including a diver.. Possession Island (cold) waters, Crozet Archipelago.
45118 works its way back to Leeds in weather completely different to that when it headed south. The platform end completely deserted at this point, would soon be swamped, not only by water, but passengers blocking most pre-planned reflection opportunities.
The Geese are practicing their V formation as part of their fall ritual. The sounds of them squawking away as they fly overhead in large flocks is a sure sign the season is changing. I watched these geese take off together and I was impressed at how close they were beside each other. They were able to co-ordinate the movement of their wings so they did not bump into each other.
In the glare of the spotlight, the world fell away. The movements as repetitive as the mantra blaring in her head: Practice makes perfect.....
Eric went out to the Local Ice Rink to see if he could get in some practice but found that the team was out practicing for the game that night so decided he would just try another day... Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday, Everybody!!
