1st Winter course practical held at Temple Newsam apiary hosted by Leeds Beekeepers Association . first session was 2 short chats about beekeeping and the course, split up by a practical hands on input in the apiary, this lasted a couple of hours. A great evening

Practical Truths includes the work of Jacob Cartwright & Nick Jordan, Jenna Collins, G. Leddington, Olivia Plender and Ben Rivers whose work is represented in film, sculpture and photography. The show explores issues around methods of documentation that attempt to grasp the dichotomy of the individual and the universal revealing various truths about human culture. The works in Practical Truths often use narratives that focus on individuals or communities that sit uncomfortably with the demands of conventional living and thereby convey a timeless sentiment that is neither defined within the present-day nor within a specific historic decade.
The Practical Christmas Gifts, Year 2. Last year we started giving practical presents (and normal ones) to our niece, nephew and son. It is a way for them to appreciate everything else they get. There was 13 items, individually wrapped and opened one at a time. It is hilarious to see their faces. This year's list included:

Practical criticism today is more usually treated as an ancillary skill rather than the foundation of a critical method. It is a part of many examinations in literature at almost all levels, and is used to test students' responsiveness to what they read, as well as their knowledge of verse forms and of the technical language for describing the way poems create their effects.
Practical Criticism is the use of one's ability to put away all previous thoughts, feelings and bias toward the particular subject being reviewed in order to understand the value of what message is attempted to conveyed by the writer. Without the proper removal of these prior feelings leaves the reader in a position to not allow him/herself to recieve that message and take it for what it is.

My second modem. Practical Peripherals (who later made some really cool LCD-screened modems) certainly liked to emblazon their logo on everything, even including the DE-9 to mini-DIN-8 adapter. I used this one until I got my PowerBook 540 in 1994. The PowerBook came with a Global Village 19.2K V.32terbo internal modem; non-US models came with 14.4K Apple Express Modems for some weird reason. (Both modems were partially implemented in software.)
I recall downloading NetBSD (or maybe MacBSD at the time?) installation tarballs to my SE/30 with this modem, which took more than a day. Hooray for the unlimited Netcom shell account.
First modem was an Novation Apple-CAT II, which I (as of 2025) still have.
Great amount of cloud today after the rain,found a new field with trees in it .
THINGS TO REMEMBER 1ST When you climb up the bank to climb through the hedge make sure you notice where you climbed through otherwise you will spend 10 minutes trying to find it .2ND make sure your camera bag pockets are done up otherwise you will spend 20 minutes trying to find your yellow/brown filter case that also has 2 memory cards in it that has fallen out somewhere.3RD When you've climbed up the 6foot bank from the road to get into the field make sure you think how your going to get out and that you don't just fall 5 foot into a country lane and startle a poor lady driver by "Just appearing".Dangerous business this photography!!!!!
The risk of cancer increases with age, and the number of older adults seeking treatment is increasing dramatically in line with the aging population. The care of older patients differs from that of younger adults because of differences in the biology of the tumor, age-related differences in host physiology, comorbidity burden and psychosocial issues, which might im pact the efficacy and side effects of cancer therapy. Practical Geriatric Oncology is a comprehensive, evidence-based text that synthesizes the growing literature in this field and provides practical guidelines to the care of older adults with cancer. Coverage includes patient assessment, management of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, the impact of age on the pharmacology of cancer therapy, surgical oncology and radiation oncology in the older adult, symptom management, and supportive care. In addition to serving as core reading for oncologists and hematologists, the book will also be a useful work for other healthcare professionals who provide oncology care, including surgeons, radiation oncologists, palliative care doctors, primary care providers, geriatricians, and nurses.
Practical Nursing students participated in the PN Pinning Ceremony on Wednesday, July 19, in the Crist Student Center at the Main Campus in Galesburg. The annual event for recent graduates is a celebration of the culmination of their efforts from their time in the program and includes the opportunity for family members and loved ones to participate in the ceremony.
Though we put a lot of effort into making our kitchen look nice, we also wanted to create a kitchen that was fun and easy to cook in. The main work area has everything we need within easy reach.
