Ce petit loch de onze kilomètres de long, situé à l'ouest de Callander, dans le comté de Stirling, est renommé pour son site abrité et ses eaux calmes reflétant les bois environnants ainsi que les pentes escarpées du Ben Venue.

C'est beau, non ? Très très beau, c'est indéniable ! "Pourquoi retoucher la nature ? N'est-elle pas belle telle quelle ?" Son message m'avait marqué. C'est vrai, faire passer une émotion, sans le moindre trucage, c'est le top du top...
C'est donc avec un immense plaisir sans doute que ce photographe qui prône la non-retouche comme valeur ultime et universelle de talent et voue les logiciels aux gémonies, savourera ce cliché ci-dessus, où le post-traitement est exceptionnellement resté au vestiaires (sauf pour les bordures et encadrements... on ne se refait pas, faut pas déconner non plus...)
Ce monsieur "rayonnant" ( www.flickr.com/photos/alainbeauvois62/16001102023/in/phot... ), qui jubile visiblement à se mettre en scène, n'est pas simplement le prototype du puriste auto-déclaré méprisant toutes les pratiques et techniques modernes qui ont élargies le spectre du domaine photographique d'une façon aussi riche et hallucinante et qui rendent notre passion sans limite (montages numériques, collages, HDR, textures, expositions longues, peintures digitales... et que sais-je encore...). C'est aussi un non-partageur, un bourreau de l'interactivité: mes petits commentaires naïfs de photographe amateur débutant et ébloui postés il y a deux ans ont été effacés. Bon. Et le bloquage est désormais fermement activé. Ah, ça se confirme. J'avais déjà été fortement déçu par le fait que ma visite n'ait pas suscité en retour une petite visite dans l'autre sens... un petit merci, un petit mot pour un petit cliché de l'élève qui méritait peut-être un petit louange du Maître...
Son credo de la photo pure, sans retouche, sans OGM, sans matière grasse et sans conservateur, ces bonnes valeurs conformistes louées aussi fièrement, ne sont plus désormais pour moi, le fan déçu, qu'un confort intellectuel que ce ch'ti s'est harmonieusement octroyé. Pour ne pas devoir faire face à un monde de technologies et de bidouillages supplémentaires qui lui sont inconnus. Et pour surfer tout en haut de son estime de soi.
Pour les photographes de ch'Nord/Pas-de-Calais qui valent photographiquement mais aussi humainement le coup, je vote à l'unanimité, et y'a pas d'ordre de préférence:

Strobist; Two 100W StudioPro Strobes, one camera left, one camera right, both with 20x28" double-diffused softboxes as modifiers. Face of the softbox on each side was about 6" from the firearm. Both angled slightly toward the camera to minimize light bleed onto the background. Background is a black bedsheet approximately 3-4 feet behind the subject. Firearm is balanced on a Pelican 1520 Hard Case.
Comments/critique very welcome! How can I improve?
My Walther PPQM2. I was experimenting with a lighting setup in my basement - a work light to the front, defused with a t-shirt, and a flash to the side with a sheet to bounce the light back on to weapon. Edited in Lightroom, Silver Efex Pro, and Color Efex Pro
I had to stack two images to have proper focus on both the front and rear sight; I tried using 4, to have the glow from the Tritium vials, but the end result looked better just using two, and manually brightening the vials instead.
Strobist:
Two strobes, through 20x28" softboxes. One on either side of the pistol, angled slightly towards the camera to minimize lightfall on the background. Backdrop is just a black bedsheet tacked on the wall approximately 3-4 ft behind the firearm. Wirelessly triggered the strobes.

This Convair 580F was converted to a freighter for use by Evergreen in 1976 and had started her life in 1952 as a Convair 340-36 (construction number 24) with Hawaiian as N5506K.
At the time of the picture she was in her 72nd year !!
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine program (PPQ) National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC) Animal Caretaker Tinene Fraizer performs a routine health check on Detector Dog Trainee Booma, in Newnan, Georgia on April 5, 2019. The center is designed and equipped to train detector dog teams (canines and handlers) to safeguard American agriculture. USDAâs APHIS PPQ and the Department of Homeland Securityâs U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) use detector dog teams, known as the Beagle Brigade, to search for prohibited agricultural products at major U.S. ports of entry (airports and land border crossings), mail and cargo facilities. A brand new Walther PPQ M1 with Trijicon HD night sights, after its first cleaning, alongside an H&K USP full-size in 9mm that also received a nice cleaning; both laid out on a Condor roll-up gun cleaning mat. Lighting provided by one Studio Pro SP-100 through a double-diffused large softbox coming from the top of the frame, angled downward at 45*, with a white foam-core board below the frame to add some bounce/fill. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) technicians are working with state and local partners; businesses and residents to stop the spread of the spotted lanternfly* a destructive insect that feeds on a wide range of fruit, ornamental, and hardwood trees, including grapes, apples, walnut, and oak; a serious threat to the United States' agriculture and natural resources, such as in Reading, Pennsylvania, on August 30, 2018. The pest damages plants as it sucks sap from branches, stems, and tree trunks. The repeated feedings leave the tree bark with dark scars. Spotted lanternfly also excretes a sticky fluid, which promotes mold growth and further weakens plants and puts our agriculture and forests at risk. Native to Asia, the spotted lanternfly has no natural enemies in North America. it's free to multiply and ravage orchards, vineyards, and wooded areas. The invasive insect was first detected in the United States in Pennsylvania in 2014, and has now spread to several states, by people who accidentally move infested material or items containing egg masses. Most states are at risk of the pest. USDA and our state and local partners are working hard to stop the spread of this invasive pest. Look for signs of spotted lanternfly. *Adult spotted lanternflies are approximately 1 inch long and one-half inch wide, and they have large and visually striking wings. Their forewings are light brown with black spots at the front and a speckled band at the rear. Their hind wings are scarlet with black spots at the front and white and black bars at the rear. Their abdomen is yellow with black bars. Nymphs in their early stages of development appear black with white spots and turn to a red phase before becoming adults. Egg masses are yellowish-brown in color, covered with a gray, waxy coating prior to hatching. Look for nymphs, adults, and eggs on trees. The Tree of Heaven is the preferred tree. Spotted lanternfly lay their eggs on a variety of smooth surfaces. Look for egg masses (which are off-white to grey and textured patches) on tree bark, vehicles, buildings, and outdoor items.
Find it, report it!
Contact your State Department of Agriculture or the Extension specialist near you to report signs of spotted lanternfly. If possible, take a picture or capture the insect in alcohol.
Stop the Spread
Everyone can play a role in stopping the spread of spotted lanternfly
Remove and Destroy
Crush nymph and adult spotted lanternflies. Scrape egg masses into hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) technicians are working with state and local partners; businesses and residents to stop the spread of the spotted lanternfly* a destructive insect that feeds on a wide range of fruit, ornamental, and hardwood trees, including grapes, apples, walnut, and oak; a serious threat to the United States' agriculture and natural resources, such as in Reading, Pennsylvania, on August 30, 2018. The pest damages plants as it sucks sap from branches, stems, and tree trunks. The repeated feedings leave the tree bark with dark scars. Spotted lanternfly also excretes a sticky fluid, which promotes mold growth and further weakens plants and puts our agriculture and forests at risk. Native to Asia, the spotted lanternfly has no natural enemies in North America. it's free to multiply and ravage orchards, vineyards, and wooded areas. The invasive insect was first detected in the United States in Pennsylvania in 2014, and has now spread to several states, by people who accidentally move infested material or items containing egg masses. Most states are at risk of the pest. USDA and our state and local partners are working hard to stop the spread of this invasive pest. Look for signs of spotted lanternfly. *Adult spotted lanternflies are approximately 1 inch long and one-half inch wide, and they have large and visually striking wings. Their forewings are light brown with black spots at the front and a speckled band at the rear. Their hind wings are scarlet with black spots at the front and white and black bars at the rear. Their abdomen is yellow with black bars. Nymphs in their early stages of development appear black with white spots and turn to a red phase before becoming adults. Egg masses are yellowish-brown in color, covered with a gray, waxy coating prior to hatching. Look for nymphs, adults, and eggs on trees. The Tree of Heaven is the preferred tree. Spotted lanternfly lay their eggs on a variety of smooth surfaces. Look for egg masses (which are off-white to grey and textured patches) on tree bark, vehicles, buildings, and outdoor items.
Find it, report it!
Contact your State Department of Agriculture or the Extension specialist near you to report signs of spotted lanternfly. If possible, take a picture or capture the insect in alcohol.

Everyone can play a role in stopping the spread of spotted lanternfly
Remove and Destroy
Crush nymph and adult spotted lanternflies. Scrape egg masses into hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol.
