While feeling industrious, a fine mist from my powerwasher blew on to a nearby funnel web. The spider only came out for two seconds so I just photographed the drops on the web.
Bikes need cleaning too, especially after a muddy cyclocross race. Had a hard time deciding on photo of the day after having a couple opportunities with the camera on Sunday. Other candidates are here, here, and here, but perhaps because this one wasn't planned at all, it excites me most. #24 of 366. (Nikkor 105mm f2.5)
After I paid my Taxes last Friday, I was so close to the wetlands that I decided to stop in and see what was going on.. It had been ages since I had been there.. Well for one thing this truck was the biggest washing machine I had ever seen.. It is a power washer and he was doing the parking lot and sidewalks and even the viewing platforms... Happy Truck Thursday, Everybody!!!!!
This wonderful waterfall was a must have after all of this rain that filled up the water flow to to give a capture like this. My dad (powerwasher), and I took out in the rain just hoping to find a good shot. Standing in the rain, I just could not resist the moment to show everyone this great waterfall.
Triple Falls is in DuPont Forest, North Carolina, just over the SC / NC line. It took us about fourty five minutes to get there, but was well worth the time to drive and about a ten minute hike on an easy trail.

Tuesday I went to St. Luke's cemetery testing Ryobi scrubber brush. It was used in combination with 600psi Ryobi powerwasher
Seems I've trained number 2 to clean the car today. A 5 year old with a pressure washer, what could possibly go wrong?
Before this, I was up the ladder painting and one of these hornets stung me.

Notice the can of hornet jet blaster spray in my back pocket which I had just used to soak the hive before using the power washer.

These two images may not mean a lot to another person, but they certainly do to me. This is my dad back on our farm in Iowa, cleaning the skidloader bucket with a powerwasher. He works so, so hard... and always has.
Incidentally, I broke my ankle in almost this exact same spot as a high-schooler. I was in the skidloader and had just spread feed for the hogs in the lot behind my dad. As I backed up out of the lot, still with the bucket raised, I extended my foot out of the skidloader to snag and close the gate (without having to get out). The skidloader jerked back, off balance, and started tipping. My first fear was of tipping over backwards in it, so I hurriedly lowered the bucket... and forgot that my foot was still extended. The motion of the bucket as it settled down into place pretty efficiently twisted my bone between it and the body of the skidloader... and, bam, my third broken bone was born.
Yeah, real smart... I know. Don't even ask me about the fourth broken bone. That's another story.

With a rainy Good Friday predicted for Manchester we thought the omens sounded good for a spot of clean graffiti for the upcoming BL9 music weekender (in Bury FC's ground in June) so we got on a train and headed up north. We hadn't really done much with the reverse/clean graffiti technique before but are fairly well versed with using stencils so thought it would be pretty straightforward. We had a list of places to hit and were eager to get started. After sorting a man, a van and a power washer we were good to go.
I thought the main problems on the day would be finding somewhere to pull up by the road and filling up with water whereas it turns out that our biggest issue was, in fact, finding the correct kind of dirty pavement to work with. With a limited supply of water that took ages to fill we had to pick our spots carefully as wasting water and time was not really an option when we had a load of impressions to get done. Despite being soaked from head to toe by the end of the day we were all experts on the relative merits of different paving and how effectively the power washer would work. You live and learn...

Brown County Fair, Georgetown, Ohio. It is really amazing how far people go to prepare their livestock for competition. This picture doesn't show a fraction of the process. While I worked on a dairy farm in my youth, I've been a city boy for the bulk of my life and had no real idea what went on behind the scenes at these fairs. There are a lot of pampered animals when show time rolls around. This is serious business.
I found this truck in a junk yard near the Mason-Dixon line. It had no drive shaft or carburetor and a nest in the intake manifold. Once I got that squared away, it ran, drove and stopped great. I did replace one tire. It is an oddball 18? inch or something.
At first I couldn't believe they were spraying more water around, as if things weren't already wet and muddy enough. But then again, those hipster kids that frolicked in the mud needed to get hosed off somewhere. Also, I have to admit I never knew it before, but I acknowledged my fetish for leopard print galoshes.
This picture is from the estate agents website from when I had just bought the house. Therefore this is the garden the day I moved in back in December 2013.
