I am still going through all my Great Gray Owl photos, when you only get to see one of these beauties only every 4 years (if you're lucky) then there is a tendency to take soooooo many photos.

Theme: Still life

Shot the shoes and the background separately, then took them to Photoshop.

-----------------------------------------

Bride Bridge: one evening in July 1927, on this bridge built for the passage of the tram, a couple on their honeymoon visited the gorges de Daluis. At nightfall the husband was seen returning panic stricken. His wife had fallen of the bridge. Crime or accident? The inquiry decided it was the latter. The popular legend transformed the story and renamed the bridge. A young bride would have voluntarily thrown herself off the bridge on the evening of her wedding, in order not to suffer the assaults of that husband who had been imposed upon her! Thus was born the Bride Bridge... It's time spending time discovering this magical place despite its tragic history.

- ehi, ehi... gioco anch'io dai. -

No, dico sul serio.

I was taking long exposure photos of the waves crashing over this rock. I missed a few of which this was one. When I looked at them on the screen I preferred those with the detail of the rock and limpets contrasting with the silky water.

Sorry to have been absent from flickr for so long. Having some health issues.

Join me on my new forum: Photographers on the Net - the new POTN

I shot this for POTN's weekly challenge. Taken just after sunrise. Sun was on my right, outside the frame.

If you look carefully you will see the silhouettes of a man and woman. The lady was taking pictures with a DSLR.

Thanks for looking.

It's not the best of the bunch but I love the background colours here. And the pose and how the wind ruffled up his feathers. :)

Photo Project 365: Day 1 - January 1, 2011

Week one theme: HDR

With this image I was in a hurry. I had the idea of shooting the creek by my house on the way home today from a new years eve party I attended last night. I had company with me and time was limited so I walked to the creek and set up the tripod, fired off a bunch of shots, and went over it real fast on the computer when I got home.

So before midnight I was experimenting in CS5 and trying new things and wasn't happy with what I had done but in the last few minutes I tried something and was happy with it considering I was rushing and just trying new things. Today I should make the deadline with no problems... hopefully.

I know why people love this lens now. Without a doubt the sharpest lens I have ever used. The optics are just unbelievable.

Taken with a T1i and EF 50mm f/1.8 II.

After seeing the Cinematic thread on POTN I decided to give it a go on some older shots.

Just experimenting. This image didn’t come to life imo until I installed Nik Silver Efex Pro a few days ago. Until then it was just sitting in lightroom. I had marked it as a reject to eventually delete and never got around to it. For those unaware of Silver Efex Pro it’s a black and white conversion plug-in for Lightroom or Photoshop. Technically you can use Photoshop to do what Silver Efex Pro does, but it will take a lot longer!

Thanks for taking the time to view the image. I’m interested to hear what you think. CC is always welcomed. Take care.

Does anyone find my borders annoying? Would you prefer it if there were no borders? Also, is this image too bright?

Again, at what seems to be my usual spot, practicing. This time on a clear night …. I seem to prefer clouds. I know I overcooked the colors a lot but when I decreased the contrast and de-saturated the colors I just didn’t care for it much. I’m going to try and tone down future images, or at least limit HDR, and / or try to make it hard to determine if HDR was even used. I’m just playing around and experimenting.

EDIT: This is a sunset. I should have mentioned it. Sorry.

Thanks for taking the time to view my image. :)

After over a year of debating, I did it. A little e-coupon digging didn't hurt, either ;) I am now the happy owner of some snaky Jeffrey Campbell Litas.

And I'm in luuuuuhhhve.

Hilarious comment from POTN about this:

"love it. model, pose and facial expression are stunning. something gives it a dreamy look. gives me the urge to fondle my camera also? looks like she is caressing that camera.

EDIT ok so i should probably not post while drinking. i just realized its a self portrait. feeling kind of stupid"

Photo gear update: 1 lens down, 1 and a body to go! Sad times but, like I said, one day I'll be the head honcho of honchoness rocking a 1Ds and a happy family of lenses. Until then, I gotta keep the Scooby dining on Premium and myself as well, and a roof, and yadda yadda… ;)

A very sweet POTN comment from my sale thread: "Your pics are spectacular, and after quickly perusing your Flickr - gotta say, don't sell your 5D2. Find some other way to pay the rent!!! Look at the joy on that face. Painful to think about. BLWS!!! heh"

^That one put a lump in my throat :/
