Butterfly - close-up of female large white, in mating posture on verbena bonariensis, awaiting her mate....

.....and he's on his way.

In our garden.

A resident bird usually found on the dry banks of lakes, rivers and other waterbodies. Summer is nesting time for these birds. They lay eggs in the ground usually around brown grassy areas on lake edges / banks. The eggs are hard to spot and often get run over or trampled.

The birds get cautious and aggressive when other birds, animals or people get close. Often they chase them away, repel them with aggressive attack flying patterns And when humans get close, they raise their wings half way and walk in a threatening manner showing a broken wing display. Aggressive posture, but delightfully beautiful.

Many thanks in advance for your views/ feedback. Much appreciated.

Tenía enfocado al macho de Onychogomphus costae y de momento curvó el abdomen con esta postura tan curiosa y deduzco que está limpiando con la pata trasera derecha algún resto de suciedad.

Fotograma recortado 12% y adaptado formato panorámico.

He had focused on the male of Onychogomphus costae and for the moment he curved his abdomen with this curious posture and I deduce that he is cleaning some dirt with his right hind leg.

12% cropped frame and adapted panoramic format.

Coot's are everywhere., and most the year are just 'part of the lakeside' furniture

Come spring time and all of that changes

Fights., posturing., and chasing off virtually anything that comes near their mates., it's a testosterone fuelled festival of aggression and male vitality and it makes for great entertainment

Of course they also become an irresistible 'target' for some fun photography

Seen on this friendly Goose at a local Nature Reserve,

This new plant in our garden seemed dormant for some time, then it began to produce one passion flower per week and now it gives several at a time.

The bees seem unable to understand the intricate structure of the flowers which is perhaps why the plant has produced no fruit.

La photo de rue, ce n'est pas tant une photo de la banalité qu'une photo de la cocasserie anodine...

Et en l'occurrence, la première source de cocasserie, ce sont les postures de nos amis badauds et travailleurs dans le "bon" contexte... :-))

The shoulders drop forward, the head is bent - the typical posture of smartphone users puts immense strain on the neck. Even a slight tilt of the head puts about 12 kilos of pressure on the neck, according to scientists.
