not my best PhoSho-Smearing,
but maybe I'll give it another try someday
anyway good enough ...for now
I went to town on this in DxO Optics Pro 4 and spent hours on it. I applied the Fuji Velvia 50 color profile which got the colors perfect, leveled the shot, and played with the lighting correction controls to find the right balance of contrast (which I like a lot of) and shadow detail on the beach. If I had to do this one over again, I'd go back to the original JPEG and maybe tone down the colors just a tad, and also try to get a little more shadow detail on the beach. You might see some JPEG compression artifacts and even a little posterization in the sky, but the original file looks great and can easily be printed as big as you want. Nikon DSLRs tend to have very very good JPEG outputs. My Canon DSLR doesn't spit out quite as good JPEGs and can tend to have posterization effects in the sky shots like these in the darker areas so I'd have wanted to shoot this one in RAW on a Canon.
