ITALY

Here are more images of Italy, this time from Pisa, Lake Garda, Rome and Montepulciano, probably taken more than a few years ago. This is the first of three postings.

Juxaposition or People and Posters

This is a collection of Graffiti or Posters, some with, some without ‘The Human Being’. I have photographed these images over a long period of time from all over the place. There is also some awesome graffiti out there and all I have done is to record it. To the artists I take my hat off to you and have much regret when your work is vandalised. To the poster makers and poster stickers, keep up the good work. To the people, all I say is, just keep on moving around.

Sepia, Black and White Photography

This is the start of yet another series of images. I’m becoming more and more a fan of monochrome photography. The posting are any subject, from anywhere in the world. Many more to follow………

LOCK-DOWN

This is probably the last of the series I shall post. Once the novelty has worn off, Children no longer put out new stones and the ones that are there have faded badly in the weather, as are the posters. There is very little to photograph in the hedgerows and we are limited to the clear days of our climate.

Have enjoyed this little series but on the serious side a call for everyone to stay safe out there in these uncertain times and best wishes.

This collection of images was taken in and around Brick Lane, London. This is an area full of New and Old Architecture, markets, people, graffiti, doors, churches and much more. We went up with members of the Photographic Club, had a brilliant time, never stopped clicking. Thanks to all for the good company. This is the first of many postings.

p.s. I will be away from Flickr for about a week getting a pile of books ready and checked to be sold, something I do annually. There is a bit of a back log to be sorted out. I will get back to everyone that had visited me over that time. Thanks very much and have a great week and weekend. Patrick

FRANCE 2018

Earlier this year we took a wonderful trip to France. We stayed in a small seaside town called Wimereux, between Calais and Boulogne. It was a lovely place, great food, beach and people. We enjoyed the break very much and I took a few photos. Here are a few of them………..

A difficult year and one that I would gladly leave behind me. To all who visit my photostream I wish you a safe and healthy 2025.

Vincent and Ossie on the same page who would have thought it.

I am listening to the stains of Jean Michel Jarre's 'Oxygene', most enjoyable. Have a great time at whatever you are doing.

The Design Museum, Kensington

I’ve been here a couple of times and it has been quite worthwhile. The Museum itself is full of items, some common place, some right out there, I enjoyed the visits. There are a few other places nearby, such as The Kyoto Gardens, The Lord Leighton Museum, The Albert Memorial and Kensington Gardens. You can easily spend a full day here. This is the last of two postings.

There is a famous expression in English: When the going gets tough, the tough get going – meaning when the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge. Sometimes, when we are in a tough situation, inspirational quote or saying can help us calm down and focus on what we need to do.

The proverb is attributed to Joseph P. Kennedy (1888-1969), the father of (U.S.) President John F. Kennedy. It was recently popularized by Billy Ocean's song 'When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going' . The saying is found in varying forms.

London Scenes – Various – Part Three

As the title infers, these will be slices of London, hopefully including every aspect of life. Including Architecture, Sculpture, People, Graffiti, Transport, Doors and pretty much everything I have seen over the past 10 to 15 years of photography.

Seen in Chinatown, San Francisco.
