While it was raining out I spotted this female possum walking around with her babies hanging on, unfortunately I did not realize one had fallen off until a couple hours later so I scooped the little one up and took it over to a wildlife refuge so they could take care of it……so far I was told he is doing great!!!
Posted two photos of this Possum...Was out on the deck having morning coffee and here she comes. Could not see the babies, thought she was injured...She was walking so slow...Was surprised to see the babies when I checked the photos. These are not the best shots, but had not seen this before.
Many thanks for taking a look...;-) Hope all my flickr friends are having a good week!
Barrow Dale House, Woden, Canberra, ACT. A neglected Brutalist style office building now invaded with possums. :-)
"Can you spy him deep within? Little Possum, black as sin. Bag is open, growing wider. What's inside it, man or spider? Little boy, don't lose your way. Possum wants to come and play."
I just know I am going to get accused of product placement, but hey, what's a photo of an expensive watch or a sports car if not the same thing. But this photo is more a nod towards one of the best and darkest psychological dramas I have ever watched, a movie called Possum...

When you see even the legs of the Spider like doll featured in the film, and Uncle Maurice's "fingers" you'll see why I feel my photo fits so absolute. The movie as was this photo, eerie, creepy, dark and sinister, just the way I like it ;)
This was taken down near Schierke by the reservoir outside Wernigerode in Central Germany or Zentrum Deutschland. There was a few of these dried up bushy like tree things, that gave for a great darker atmosphere when witnessed close up.
I hope everyone's week is off to a great start, massive appreciation to all the faves, comments, feedback and follows, and so as always, thank you! :)
Several years ago our niece and her husband came to visit us....and they also brought their dog, Possum. I truly wish I'd taken more photographs of this little dog, as she was quite willing to sit and stare at my camera. Perhaps she was trying to hypnotize me. I can almost imagine what she was trying to say... 'Look into my eyes.....bring me something to eat....play with me.'
A neighborhood resident. For now the name is "Possum" until it is determined whether it's a male or female.
Thank you for viewing, faveing and commenting on my images!

This little possum was trying to hide in my neighbours' tree from a big Black Currawong that kept circling over it. Finally the Currawong gave up and flew off.
Many thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.
My first possum photo for 2021! This is "Jess", the young female Brushtail Possum that was born last year (and is a regular visitor to our deck).
This baby possum was drowning on my property. I rescued him with a net. Within a half-hour he was standing and slowly recovering, but didn’t seem strong enough to be on his own. I took him to an animal rescue shelter and learned his ears were infected with maggots. The baby possum would have died a horrible death if none of this had happened, when the maggots made their way into his brain. He is scheduled for release in a couple of months.
Dame Edna Everage used to greet people with a cheerful, "Hello possums!" These three little ones sit in our garden.
Look very closely at the dark area on the honey possum in this photo. It's her pouch, and you can just make out what would appear to be at least one and possibly two little joeys.
I hadn't realised this until I was looking through the photos again.
It's been a little rough coming down from my water drop photo addiction after they confiscated my macro lens. So to calm the jitters and take my mind off it I went to this opossum party – or actually more of a rodent rave. I danced the night way to the marsupial mash, and vaguely remember snorting some kind of orange nose candy. ...Or maybe that was just a fever dream. Maybe this image is actually a night-shot taken out my window and the flash accidentally went off (reflecting all manner of bugs and dirt) while trying to photograph an opossum licking the orange in my Baltimore Oriole bird feeder. It’s one of those, probably.
