This is a Banana Spider but I call him "Poodle Spider" because of the poodle like tufts of hair on his legs!
I have a pretty healthy imagination and sometimes see things in the clouds that others don't. However, on this occasion when I glanced out the back door, I was pretty sure that I saw a huge pink poodle hanging out in the sky. Can you see him too? Learned via FB the next day that a friend had her pet poodle pass away that same day. I shared with her that he made a brief visit to see me on his way across the rainbow bridge and passed this photo on to her.
To be honest I'm not so sure about this but am posting anyway as you may enjoy it. Not everything has to be perfect.
As mentioned in my most recent upload we were expected more storms and on Friday afternoon they arrived with vengeance.
Harpo gets very defensive with the loud thunder and barks at it, as if that will scare it away.
I sat on the front doorstep with him and we watched the rain and lightening and listened to the thunder. I tried to keep him calm and he just sat, transfixed like this, watching and listening.
This is an impression of what it was like.
Taken with the ipad.
I am feeling like some of us may need a laugh so here is another offering from my household of crazy animals.
Oh the shame of being desexed and prevented from doing what a male dog does best :-).
We came home with instructions from the Vet to keep Harpo quiet and calm fo the next 10 days. Yeah right. That is like trying to stop a charging bull. At 7 months he shows no signs of ever calming down or doing what he is told for that matter. The Vet said some dogs are dog excitable and others are people excitable. Harpo is a people dog. He goes ballistic if anyone pays him the slightest bit of attention. A sideways glance is all it takes. You don't see too many standard poodles walking the streets so he gets so much attention. Last week a little boy yelled out to his mum-"Look mum, Llama!
If you saw any of yesterdays comments about Cocky George laughing when he saw Harpo with a cone, well now you can see why.
Georgia is a big powerful female, and Chip "the wonder dog" at four and a half pounds seems confused by by this girl that just loves him. I told Chip, "you got to be strong, sometime love hurts."
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself."

A very special place in the Navajo Nation on the edge of the White Mesa near Tonalea/AZ.
Thanks to Harrison M Begaye, living in Tonalea/AZ; he accompanied me to this place; without him i´d no chance to find the way to this location.

Eli loves snow, running, licking, putting his head in the snow banks, etc. With the snow we had on day 56, he was in heaven.

Thunderclouds forming the shape of a poodle's head over the Chisos Mountains in the afternoon on the Mule Ears Spring Trial. I never did find a spring, which would have helped in filtering and refilling my water, so if you do this hike, bring plenty of water. The trail branches off to continue to the backside of Mule Ears so you can extend this hike several miles if you're in the mood for it. I like how these clouds rhyme with the mountain patterns. To Layla, sticks are to be savored. There is nothing better than finding a nice, shady spot to lie down, grasping the stick between front paws, and gently nibbling away. Should another dog (say a pesky little brother) approach, she'll curl her lip and give a little growl for disturbing her reverie.
In search of an authentic 1950's roadside diner, we find one where Poodle skirts are back in fashion.
I've been hoarding this poodle print (Fabric Finders) for awhile now and I could stand it no longer, I had to sew it up! So much fun and there was lots of stuff to go with it. I won't go into detail about the pattern details since we are out of the fabric, but I will probably make it up again with fabric we do have in the shop. Loooooooove those triple ruffle pants!
The poodle has been bred in at least three sizes, including Standard, Miniature, and Toy.
The Standard Poodle is the oldest of the three varieties.
Ranked second most intelligent dog breed just behind the Border Collie, the poodle is skillful in many dog sports and activities, including agility, obedience, tracking to herding, circus performers or assistance dogs.
