What does a pelican ponder? Do they think of love or where the next fish is coming from. Do they feel happy or sad, or just "be". The eyes are the gateway to the soul.

These guys let us get so close a few days ago! Probably because we were standing next to the fish cleaning table.

Fun Fact #1 The Australian pelican is almost entirely white, except for colour at the end of their wings.

Fun Fact #2 Australian pelicans have the longest bill in the avian world, the longest recorded being 50cm

Fun Fact #3 The earliest-known pelican fossil dates back 30 million years in France. It reveals that pelicans have stayed relatively the same over millions of years. These animals are essentially living fossils! How cool is that! And I thought I was an old fossil!

I just had to post a New Holland Honeyeater image today. As I was getting some images of the Praying Mantis I spotted a couple busy gathering twigs for nesting.

Happy Umbellifer Wednesday! :)

I've been pondering. If apologizing is human and forgiving is divine, why should I remain silent? I have always defended that women should not silence physical and/or psychological abuse. Emotional abuse turns out to be blackmail and leaves wounds much deeper than a slap in the face. Nobody is safe because I am not divine! I'm sick of shutting up and continuing to see human errors.
