The Pleasure House Folly was originally built as a 2 storey lookout house to keep watch for pirates and smugglers at the nearby quay in North Devon
Towards the end of the 18th century, it was converted into a folly as part of a broader grand architectural landscape re-design
When life overwhelms us with its demands and problems, we can find moments of tranquility and happiness in nature. Looking at a beautiful landscape we realise that happiness lies in simple pleasures.

“I with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me innocent or naïve, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.” - Anais Nin
Dreamt of you last night
Woke up
You weren’t there
Five nights in a row
Of dreams
I’d never share
You come without a warning
Early in the morning
Timing’s never been our thing
Leaving me with guilt
The only souvenir you bring
I’m with him and you’re a secret treasure
He’s devotion, you’re a guilty pleasure
I’m with him and this is real life, honey
Guess the joke’s no longer funny
I’m with him until the death do us part
But it doesn’t do for this hungry heart
I’m with him, but in my frantic head
You always come and say
Would you run away
Would you run away with me
Would you run away
Would you run away
One love is enough
That’s all you ever get
Least that’s what they tell you
Still, i can’t forget
Eyes like burning ashes
Till the sunlight flashes
Can’t recall what i’ve been taught
Captivated by the thunderstorm
In which i’m caught
I’m with him and you’re a secret treasure
He’s devotion, you’re a guilty pleasure
I’m with him and this is real life, honey
Guess the joke’s no longer funny
I’m with him until the death do us part
But it doesn’t do for this hungry heart
I’m with him, but in my frantic head
You always come and say
Would you run away
Would you run away with me
Macro Mondays Guilty Pleasure Theme
I like sitting in a cafe with a cup of tea listening to the muffled voices around me.
At Newport Wetlands Centre cafe there are wall to wall windows that overlook a lake with many visiting birds.
I'll rent a house somewhere
I'll listen to Biosphere
And all I see there
A straight line in the atmosphere
Every hour will be longer
And I'll linger with pleasure
Lyrics ©Ane Brun
I do not eat or like chocolate much chocolate; only crispy orange flavored chocolate is definitely my guilty pleasure.
Lots of fun, real indulgent pleasures for our girl Zaynah!
Many thanks to all who takes the time to view, comment and fave my pictures!
Pleasures for the cat, not for the bee. Fynn has learned that hunting bees isn't always a pleasure but can be a quite unpleasant experience if the bee decides to defend herself. Obviously Linus doesn't seem to know that yet ....
One of the rides at the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier. We had a lovely walk out on the pier with a great view of the Gulf of Mexico and Seawall Blvd.
A study for this weeks Macro Mondays theme, "Guilty Pleasure..."
Glenmorangie Scotch in a small tulip-shaped dessert wine glass. Speedlight in 3-foot softbox acting as a scrim.
While I am pleased with the technical aspects, including the pour, I feel that the image doesn't read as Scotch but wine, due to the shape of the glass...
PS - I finally decided to go with the high key concept here...
2.375 inches in greatest dimension.
