Saturday night cruising in Paprihaven, at the Market Street Chevron...

The neon lights of Market Street flickered against the polished chrome of Paprihaven’s finest engines. It was Saturday night, the one window of time where the local police traded their citations for a watchful eye, letting the asphalt belong to the rev-heads and speed-seekers.

Amidst the sea of snarling V8s and high-whining turbos, an unlikely convoy was making its slow progress down the crowded thoroughfare toward Dixie's Diner.

Leading the way was Rani Juli,* steering her blue Ford Focus through the thicket of idling muscle cars. While the cars around her boasted racing stripes and carbon fiber, Rani’s Focus sported a custom, high-gloss mural of Mickey Mouse across the side, wearing his engineer's cap with his iconic white-gloved hand giving all the passersby an encouraging thumbs-up.

Right on her bumper was the main attraction, a full-sized school bus that had undergone a radical transformation. On the outside, a massive, grinning Goofy adorned the yellow siding, looking blissfully unaware of the high-octane tension surrounding him. Inside, however, was a different world.

Laus Baumjin sat tall in the driver’s seat, maneuvering the heavy vehicle with practiced ease. Behind him, the Paprihaven Disney Society relaxed in a sanctuary of luxury:

Plush, oversized lounge chairs replaced the rigid plastic benches of the bus's past. Deep, luxuriant carpeting muffled the roar of the street outside. Polished tables held Disney trivia cards and sketches, creating a rolling clubhouse.

The air outside was thick with the scent of burnt rubber and expensive fuel. To any outsider, the sight was surreal. A tricked-out Supra would rev its engine, the sound vibrating the bus windows, only for the club members to peek out and offer a polite wave or a thumbs-up.

"I think that guy in the Mustang just tried to race us," Laus chuckled, catching the eye of a confused driver in his rearview mirror.

The club members felt like fish out of water, but there was a shared respect in the air. In Paprihaven, if you had a custom paint job and a dream, you belonged on Market Street—even if your "dream" involved singing along to "It's A Small World" while heading for a snack.

Soon, the glowing sign of Dixie’s Diner would appear on the horizon, the heavy vibration of the street racing scene would begin to fade, and the excitement would be replaced by the anticipation of a different kind of thrill.

In only 10-15 minutes, (There was no sense in getting in a hurry on Market Street Saturday nights. Unless you had pole position at the stoplight, waiting for that fateful green.), Rani would pull her Mickey-themed Focus into the lot, followed closely by Laus and the Goofy-clad behemoth. They would still hear, and feel, the engines of the racing world's roar in the distance, but for the Disney Society, the real prize wasn't a checkered flag.

The bus doors would hiss open and the members would step onto the pavement as the aroma of sizzling beef and spicy peppers hit them. The street racing was fun to watch, but nothing beat the first bite of a Dixie’s chili cheeseburger after a long Saturday night.

Opening sequence. Small tabs on either side of the dark bley rock wall let you drag out them out, letting the green grass above drop in nothing less than dramatic fashion!

"What's this?" exclaims the explorer, "I simply must descend and investigate further!"

I finished off the hidden waterfall with the light bley snake motif for now, with a view to redo the interior later in either yellow or sand green. The rock wall opens manually on either side and the explorer can decent on a wind up rope, partially hidden behind the spiderweb but still accessible. I tried mounted the rope to the tree stump but I couldn't get the rope to wind up properly.

I'm not totally satisfied with the trees; I pictured something more stylised or cartoony but I think I need to practice that more.

Got it! The amazing Eiffel Tower playset for Miraculous.

We were watching at Walmart and no one else bit after a few successive clearance markdowns and it finally got down to a price we liked!

This seems to us to be a unique playset. How many Eiffel Tower playsets are there out there? And it has lots of fun features and accessories.

It's very large. And, while it's neat for 1:6 we think it will be AH-MAY-ZING for 1:12 or, especially, 1:18 figures!

We did not want to unbox our Miraculous dolls yet but we had these 'previously loved' that we found at thrift stores, and they were quite happy to model the playset. We are quite thankful to have found this at a good price. 😊

Cinderella's Castle playset by Disney. 22 inches X 18 inches. Lights and sounds. $7.00 yard sale treasure. I have misplaced the flat piece of plastic that extends one room of the upstairs.

The 2011 Disney Store Cinderella Carriage playset , from my personal collection. I bought it late last year when the Disney Store had a clearance sale on it. It comes with a 16'' Carriage with rolling wheels and a rotating Pumpkin section, a 12'' H Cinderella doll in blue dress, a 12'' H white horse with white mane and pink tuft, and 1.5'' Jaq and Gus mouse sidekick figurines. The horse plus carriage measures 28'' in length.

It is photographed new in box. I have not unboxed it yet.

Was hot pink and purple...

Gloria Playset repainted by me

Phew, it's finished! And I nearly threw it all on the floor about halfway through. I kept having issues with the foundation so I kinda rebuilt the castle from the ground up while keeping the black tree trunk sides mostly intact. So while it's far from living up to my initial concept, at this point I'm just proud that I actually finished it :-)

I wasn't able to satisfactorily make the tree envelope the castle at the top so I left it exposed, which keeps it more in line with the original Forestmen Fortress set.

The castle features, from the ground up: storeroom, dormitory, treasure keep, armoury and lookout at the top. Drawbridge, ladder and small catapult. Lots of modularity, the sides detach and each level can also detach as a separate playable unit.

I'll post it to Lego Ideas for fun :-)

Some more views descending into the hidden area.

Chains at the local park. =]

5 bucks! What a deal! :D

Blogged! :)

Minifigures included with the set: four workers (including Cal Kestis), maintenance droid and two Imperial guards. I forgot to include the probe droid, whoops!

For me these guys were the most memorable in the chase scene of the movie.

Excuse the crappy paintwork on Clarence and Joe. What else would you include in the "play set"? I've tried to keep the concept purist except for the modified heads, Murphy's vest and decals. All of which aren't necessary. The Harry Potter Head works OK for Clarence. There are different options that work equally as well I think.

The bad dudes and the money fit into the van with room for 2 more guys. The police car fits Murphy and Lewis with a small amount of room for some stuff in the back seat.

I've made the .lxf files for the van and car and intend to post them so that others can reenact this fun scene in their own homes. Sure you design one yourself if you want, but for those of you who can't be bothered... ;)

'Stylist Sindy' Salon Playset by Kid Kreations.

After the success with the Collectors Club Sindys in 2020, Kid Kreations decided to aim for the broader public and make Sindy hit the shelves in the toy stores. People went wild!

They produced six different dolls with fun playsets:

Riding Club Sindy, Ballerina, Pet Parlour, Fashion Blogger, Salon Stylist and Sweet Treats.

The major differences from the Collectors Club Sindys are the lack of real eyelashes. These are just painted on. Instead she got joints in her ankles which is great.

The outfits has a lower quality but still pretty good.

She is similar to 'Dream Date' Sindy (Aurora) from 2020 with her pink hair. I will take a comparison photo after I let her out of her box.

I was once asked: you can build also a toilet? But of course, I replied. The question is now a few months old, but my answer is there now.

Sindy 'Music Star' Playset by Kid Kreations.

After the success with the Collectors Club Sindys in 2020 and the Playline Sindys in 2021, Kid Kreations decided to make another set of five different dolls with fun playsets in 2022:

Music Star, Party Time, Toy Vlogger, Dance Star and Flower Magic.

She's giving you the eye. The eeYye!

Did you forget to feed your cat?

And I don't mean the nasty dry pellets stuff, I mean the fresh salmon you thought were meant for you?

Did you tell your doggie now wasn't a good time for walkies?

And it's been two hours already of you browsing flickr?

How about the bunny?

Or did you forget altogether you even had one?

Oh yes. Pet Parlour Sindy is on to YOU.

It's all nonsense naturally. She's a very sweet girl with an unfortunate stare. Please go ahead and browse flickr some more.

....... but give your cat the salmon. For your own sake.

This is the updated version. The van holds all everything shown. Both side doors slide freely but securely. The rear doors open to allow the "Flying Bobby" play feature to operate.

My second attempt at a fanciful playset of the first level of Jedi: Fallen Order, where huge decommissioned starships are stripped for parts. I wanted something that tried to capture a slice of that industrial landscape with it's daunting size.

The center of the playset contains a slice of ship (it suggests an linear engine) while two work towers on each side can slide in and out. The dizzying work towers' upper levels rotate and feature various folding ramps, scanners and cutting equipment. The user is able to facilitate their own narrative experience throughout the colossal structure.

Secondary play elements include a detachable cargo barge and automated light rail system.

As I mentioned, this is a second attempt; I'm quite happy with how it turned out, I love the ridiculous size of it all and the brown base really grounds it and adds a nice grimy feeling. The central spaceship remnant remains unsatisfying somehow. I suspect there's a better form to communicate it but for now, I dig it. What do y'all think? Any suggestions for improvements? Close-up shots tomorrow.
