There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

After several days of shooting with David Swindler, he kindly invited me to join his group out to White Pocket. WP has been at the top of my list for several years, so thanks to David I was able to strike that one off my list. That's Cody Wilson way off in the background, I happened to look up from my composition and noticed he was going to have to remove me from his photo if I didn't high tail it out of his shot. So I fired off a couple so that he would lend a sense of scale to the scene. Had a lot of fun shooting here but if you show up during the day its not nearly as impressive as dusk. All the textures start to pop out and the sandstone glows in the twilight. Had a great time and met some really nice people.

so currently playing in my playlist is The Best of Times by Dream Theater.

I highly recommend it since I'm blessed to get those 'best of times to remember' right NOW, in the present, and not just like it's normally said referring to worry-free nostalgia young age.

So the song correlates with this day, this very same moment when I stopped with the car, since I previously saw this water in line with the mountain. It was right after the snowboarding all day and still, the nature's call for photograph is never to be missed, even with sore legs :)

so the car was parked 100m away, which is cca my break distance :), and then the trucks/cars were passing by >100km/h since it's straight and open road with one track each side.

during my trip in New York last week, I've udated my 30Gb iPod classic 5th Gen to a 32 Gb iPod Touch 2nd Gen. I bought it here

Very happy with it...

Went for a quick and dirty urbex, but got something WAY more - a School where just below 20 young soldiers were killed and many more injured in 1919 Freedom Fights. Right next to it there's a monument for this sad event, therefore I'm speaking about it openly.

Today it's remembered mostly as a school, but before that it served as a Skuju krogs - a pub, but after the School - a car parts store Auto Placis.

Today it stands empty in the quite depopulated rural Latvia, infested with swallows, discarded car parts and soviet-approved literature, scattered all around the second floor - a treat to witness!

Last date I found inside was 2004, written under a hand-drawn map of Australia of all places. Oh, and fun fact - no running water inside. Ever.

Rollei Retro 80S reversed in PQ Universal and scanned with Plustek 7600i Ai.

Best enjoyed with Dark Ambient / RUREX

I'm a Spotify Premium member, and today I found an e-mail that invited me to take a look at my year of music in one fancy multimedia style review. (I don't know if the experience is available to free Spotify users, it might be.)
