This is a platter of Italian Pastries from a great little shoppe in my neighborhood. They are amazing.
My pet project of this week...Golf cookies! I spent a lot of time on research and design for this platter. Thanks to tricia_z for the inspire.

In the highly recommendable Greek restaurant Odysseus in Penzing, the 14th district of Vienna.
You see here (from right to left) my wife Lihua and dear visitors, namely my stepdaughter Xixi, whom I have known for a very long time and who is like a real daughter to me, and my step-granddaughter Puding, whom I have just become acquainted with.
She is just great! How smart she is became clear to me when, after a short settling-in period, she started to understand my strange Chinese and joined in our table conversations, for example.
At a certain point in these table conversations, I even had the feeling that she was the only one at the table who understood what I meant, namely when I described my impression of the difference between Mandarin and the Kunming dialect, which her mother speaks with her grandmother but which she herself only understands: Mandarin moves along in waves for me, the Kunming dialect in zigzags. She repeated my comment in an understanding smiling way that I enjoyed very much.
