This little Pacific tree frog or Pseudacris regilla—has adopted us and grown a bit. I could hear it along with other tree frogs (I think) and coyote, etc. A beautiful evening and night-time chorus.
This is the planter it has chosen, apparently. I had the Laowa macro lens on—not ideal, and later convinced my husband to use his gear to take a better photo. (He thinks he and this frog have bonded. Will probably post his photo soon.)
For Smile on Saturday theme of Unusual Planter, this is a handmade Railroad Station planter with dried flowers from the Georgia Mountain Fair of 1985. 🗻⛰
This homeowner is taking ‘Boat Planter’ to a whole new elitist level. I have seen rowboats and canoes made into planters, but this motorboat is a first. It is hard to tell what year it is because all the interior appointments are covered with dirt. I looked up Starfire and they make several varieties ... hard top, soft top, no top and yachts. This is probably a ‘no top’... at least it is now. I’m guessing a model made in the 1980’s. The nice thing about fiberglass is that it stands up to the weather. I am afraid they are going to try to steal the market away from my ‘Garbage Truck Planters’, which frankly are not selling too well. Someone spread a wicked rumor that they are trashy.
If you are interested in the flowers, I think the plants are Impatients. Any corrections are welcome. Have a nice weekend.
One of my early digital shots, when I was still trying to decide between film and this new fangled digital thang.

planter of pretty flowers at Fountain square in Lewistown, Mifflin county, Pennsylvania during autumn morning.
Our local war memorial, a day after the hail storm. Somebody had taken a planter, filled it with soil and stuck a couple of British Legion wooden poppy crosses in. Now covered in water. When you plant something, then I would think with the expectation of growth. I wonder what the expectation was - the death of millions as the seeds of peace? No more war?
Fuji X-E2 plus Mitakon Speedmaster at F0.95.
This unusual planter was a brick wall leading to the beach via a walkway. The other side of the walkway was a normal wooden fence. But the plant seemed quite happy in its niche!!
We have all seen the boat planters and bathtub planters and even the occasional truck planter. However, on a grander scale, those of you with a big front yard may want to invest in this garbage truck planter. Think of the impact it would have in your neighborhood, especially in front of a beautiful fountain.
There are only a few left in stock and, if you order now, the truck can be personalized with your own name and phone number. That way your neighbors will think you own your own lucrative business.
You can even fill it with garbage for that realistic smell. The sound of buzzing flies will really make people stop and take notice. Place a few pink flamingos around the truck and voila - a gardening masterpiece.
No assembly required. HTT
