Fishing port, Psarolimano, in Larnaca.

Taken on another of the few nice sunny mornings we've had this early spring. We can't resist going up this boardwalk, for some reason it holds an 'allure'. It was badly burnt half way up by vandals two or three years ago, but mended by people doing 'Community Service' for some petty crime in the past. There are a few holes in the planks so 'mind the gap' !!

I hope it holds an allure for you too my Flickr friends - thanks for every visit and fave, every time, always.

Milling planks the ancient ways, with steam. This sawmill is using steam power to cut logs into planks. Attached by a twisted drive band to the engine, the loggers keep the wood hard-pressed against the cutting guides whilst the saw does its job. With smoke, steam and sawdust filling the air, and the ragged sound of wood cutting accompanied by the repetitive chough of the engine, this really is quite something to watch.

A bridge from one place to the next,

Stretching across the river's crest,

Connecting shores with sturdy grace,

A path for travelers to embrace.

Wooden planks worn smooth by time,

Carrying footsteps in rhythm and rhyme,

Above the water's gentle flow,

A silent witness to all who go.

From dawn's first light to dusk's last sigh,

The bridge stands tall against the sky,

A symbol of unity and hope,

Guiding wanderers along life's scope.

So step upon its weathered boards,

And leave behind the world's discord,

For on this bridge, all souls find rest,

A passage to peace, a journey blessed.
