I'm a seeker too. But my dreams aren't like yours. I can't help thinking that somewhere in the universe there has to be something better than man. Has to be.

It’s real!
How good have the Planet of the Apes films and series been?
It’s just got better and better with brilliant effects.
Now you can buy your own ape on horseback, for your garden, from Gordon Riggs garden centre.
I don’t think many will sell though.

Gorillas search the fields for an escaped human test subject.
Sad to say, but it sounds like the Neca planet of the apes line is dead. Perhaps there really weren't enough people buying, though I personally believe that 2 doctor Zaius' released in a row (which pegwarmed) and the unwillingness to produce a 7" scale Taylor figure also hurt sales. A real shame.
Palm Beach, Aruba
I like to get up early and take a stroll on the beach, as well as bag a couple of sun beds by the pool side... even this silly game has now spread worldwide!
While walking along the water’s edge I saw an object in the distance, alien to its surroundings, but I couldn’t work out what it was... as I neared, it grew in stature, the sun glistening on its monolith structure. It’s colour deepening with every stride towards it. Reluctantly, the object gave up its disguise... in the immediate seconds that passed I felt like Charlton Heston discovering the Statue of Liberty on a beach with the shocking realisation he had returned to earth in another time.
But my horror was not a statue but a standard British red telephone box! My thoughts alternated – why, how, who, when? Had Kevin carelessly lost one on his travels and it had drifted across oceans to land here, in Aruba of all places, or had Eddie secretly stolen one of the Manchester boxes and had it shipped across in the hope I might stumble upon it. Or was it simply a find in a million. Only by posting this on Flickr might my many questions be answered.
I await and hope for an explanation...
A shot of the Milky Way over the Trona Pinnacles in California with the city lights of LA lighting the horizon
We just saw "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" and it was one of the best movie we haven't seen for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Thought I would combine my favorite rabbids in this movie poster - that should be a good movie too! :P
Posting those recent Trona Pinnacles images remind me of a trip I took there in 2001. Imagine driving out to the place as the sun was setting, only to find a gigantic crashed space ship! I managed to get this one shot off before black clad security agents in an unmarked van made me leave. (a year later Tim Burton's remake of "Planet of the Apes" came out and this ship was instantly recognizable.)
Last weekend at the Toronto Metro Zoo, I made a beeline to the Orangutan exhibit. With the upcoming "Jungle Book" movie coming soon, this is an ode to that irascible simian, Cousin Louie :)

The Cityjet Casanova, the original one, EI-FWA seen at Dublin in 2017, happier times for Cityjet & indeed its new relationship with the Russian built Sukhoi SuperJet 100 ( SSJ100 )
New June 2016, the SSJ's were used on various Cityjet charters & some were even painted into Brussels Airlines livery, who Cityjet were operating on behalf of, replacing their own Avro fleet.
Sadly, it all turned sour, reliability & availabilty of spare parts meant aircraft downtime & the casanova was no longer loved by Cityjet.
FWA was stored in January 2019 as 9H-SJA at Venice, Italy where Superjet International has a maintenance base & hasnt moved since.

This is a short, one day build as my entry for the #Nerdlystrikesback, where I have recreated the iconic ending scene of Planet of the Apes in microscale, as the glasses as the Statue of Liberty. In this contest, you build a ‘Nerdly’, which is a model, any shape, any size that has BrickNerd’s recognisable taped glasses perched on them.
