I gaze through the wormhole, fixed in space, experiencing the thrilling speed of of the citrus grove as it rushes past, propelled by the earth's movement, spinning and circling the sun, an ancient, frenetic dance set in motion long, long ago.
I close the wormhole and return to reading today's copy of the New York Times. Ah, a revival of Pippin opens this weekend. I must go.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated
Standing by the sea, I look out into infinity.
My gaze sweeps from left to right, and I can see almost 180 degrees. With my own eyes, I can observe the curvature of the horizon. I’ve come face to face with the planet.
It does something to you, to see it with your own eyes, this incomprehensible scale of the ocean. It's liberating. You let go of left-brain knowledge and lose yourself in awe.
Our ancient ancestors all the way back to the first animals have been seeing oceans just like this, and if there are other living worlds out there, they may have similar watery expanses.
Standing by the sea, I feel the oneness of it all. I feel connected to eternity.
From a sunset canoe on the St. Lawrence last year at this time. Have yet to go for a paddle this Spring and it appears all the ice is gone due to the other planetary crisis, global warming.
Absolutely thrilled to photograph Venus, Jupiter and Mars this morning! We had hazy cloud but could still make out Mars with the naked eye ;0)
And wonderful to have this photograph featured amongst so many fantastic captured from around the world!

"Planetary by My Chrmical Romance"
There might be something outside your window
But you'll just never know
There could be something right past the turnpike gates
But you'll just never know
If my velocity starts to make you sweat
Then just don't let go
And if their heaven ain't got a vacancy
Then we just, then we just, then we just
Then we just get up and go!

From Left edge tiny Comet Catalina, Venus, Mars, Moon Jupiter top Right. If you zoom in 100% there is tiny star on the left of Venus that is Comet Catalina
A minimalistic cosmic alignment, representing the sun, a planet, and its moon in perfect harmony. The bold orange background enhances the orbital composition, creating a celestial balance with simple elements. A tribute to the beauty of planetary motion and new beginnings.
Mosaic of some of my best planetary images to date. All taken with various QHY cameras. Moon,Venus,Mars,Jupiter+ 2 moons,Saturn+ 5 moons & Comet Lovejoy
taken from my backyard in April/May 2021 telescope session , from two hundreds sub frames I choose 90 the best x 120 seconds exposure time each for stacking and processing in PixInsight .Thanks for looking :) I used my home build Newtonian telescope with QHY268C camera and Optolong UV/IR Cut filter . thanks for looking .
This is an image of an around 50% illuminated phase of our closest planetary neighbour Venus.
I managed to get my planetary scope out back in June to image this beautiful object, shining brilliantly in our evening skies then. This represents the last time I have done any planetary imaging due to circumstances.
The data has been on my drive since and I'm only getting around to have a look at it now.
Venus is one of the so-called inferior planets, as it orbits the sun inside our orbit.
This means that Venus orbits the sun faster than earth and from our perspective is sometimes closer to us and at other times is on the far side of the sun. This change in relative position means we see phases for Venus (and Mercury).
Unfortunately when it approaches earth and is at its largest apparent size its phase also decreases!
This is a false coloured UV/IR filter image to reveal some cloud structure in the thick atmosphere of Venus. Data from the IR filter is mapped to the red channel and that from the UV is mapped to blue. A synthetic green channel is produced from a blend of both. Some lovely cloud structure is apparent.
Imaged with a Celestron C11 SCT and a ZWO 290MM camera. Using Baader IR pass and Venus U filters.
The crystal sphere - Valued for seeing the future but I'm happy seeing the present. The glass ball is like a converging lens giving a lovely distortion with all lines pointing to the center. Like being in the middle of a snow globe or rather sun globe. The image is flipped so the scene in the ball is right side up, feels better this way.

I didn't have any idea what to do for the Alien landscape category until I saw this amazing artwork by technouveau and I'd always wanted to give Simon Pickard's curved surface technique a go so I figured I'd have a crack at some vibrant planetary rings.
