Deauville (France) - En ce jour de décembre 2022, avec un ami, nous étions Deauville (Calvados) pour voir les expositions du festival photographique intitulé "Planches contact". Nous étions surtout intéressés par l'exposition sur la plage de Raymond Depardon. Bon, nous avons été très déçus. Nous étions loin du Raymond Depardon photo-reporter que aimons tant. Des photos grands formats prises à la chambre 20X25 donnant des images désespérément statiques. Certes pour avoir des images dynamique, il fait éviter les appareils qui carburent aux plans-films.
Nous été nous consoler en allant faire quelques photos sur la plage. Alors qu'il avait plu toute la journée, nous avons bénéficié d'une fenêtre météo favorable, avec cette lumière normande si particulière qui a inspiré tant de peintres impressionnistes.
Norman lights
Deauville (France) - With a friend, on this day in December 2022, we were in Deauville (Calvados) to see the exhibitions of the photographic festival entitled "Planches contact". We were especially interested in the exhibition on the beach by Raymond Depardon. Well, we were very disappointed. We were far from the Raymond Depardon photo-reporter that we love so much. Large format photos taken with a 20X25 camera giving desperately static images
We consoled ourselves by going to take some pictures on the beach. While it had been raining all day, we benefited from a favorable weather window, with that particular Normandy light that inspired so many impressionist painters.
