Waiting for the sun to position it's self correctly 😉

The iconic structure is a 28.5 meter high tapering tower which is built of local stone stands just behind the historic Perch Rock Fort; a napolionic defence guarding the River's mouth.

The lighthouse was withdrawn from service in october 1973 due to advances in navigation technology that rendered the lighthouse surplus. The lighting aparatus was removed and a fog bell that originally hung from the tower was presumably removed around the same time, although the bracket from which it hung still remains, as do many features that have been removed from most other Lighthouses. The whole tower was restored and painted in 2001 with millenium project funding; this included the placement of a decorative LED light inside the tower, which flashes morse code messages including the names of all who lost their lives in the titanic tragedy.

I apologize for it being so blurry, this is something i built about 2 months ago.

Another hazy sunrise from Islandhill. The water was flat calm giving perfect reflections. Beautiful to just stand and watch :)

Probably one of the prettiest I've ever seen...and soon to be eaten. A touch of processing here of course. The SOOC in comments for the originalists.

One of many photos taken on the LSRC on Aug 12, 2016. Many thanks to the great employees of the Lake State Railway for setting this up for a bunch of railroaders.

In the realm of high fashion, every movement tells a story, and with the Mala Animation Set, I embrace my narrative with grace, elegance, and a touch of fierceness. These animations are more than poses—they are moments captured in time, a celebration of subtlety and strength.

Refining the Art of Elegance: As I don this stunning black and red formal Asteria Grace gown, its satin finish draping effortlessly over my figure, the Mala Animation Set enhances every curve, every fold, and every nuance of its mermaid silhouette. The four static poses, complemented by mirrored versions, allow me to exude stillness with intention. Each subtle breath, every delicate sway, brings life to the ensemble, embodying the perfect harmony between demure sophistication and captivating allure.

Empowered in Every Movement: The set offers four breathing-only stands that elevate the essence of natural beauty. My movements, though understated, convey a sense of confidence that commands the room. Paired with four animated poses, I can transition seamlessly between standing tall in regal composure to a fluid elegance that captivates my audience—whether on the runway or in the spotlight of a formal event.

Versatility Meets Style: From the understated movements in casual showcases to the commanding poise needed for high-fashion editorials, the Mala Animation Set adapts effortlessly. For this Asteria "Grace" Gown, the poses highlight its dramatic red bow, the sleek gloves, and the Bauhaus hat tilted just so. These animations ensure that every detail—from the lace to the sheen of satin—becomes a focal point.

A Model’s Essential Companion: In fashion modeling, there are times when less is more. The Mala Animation Set offers subtle hand gestures, impeccable leg placement, and refined expressions that speak volumes without saying a word.

Whether you're reflecting elegance in formalwear or embracing the boldness of edgy designs, this set is your silent ally in making a lasting impression.

There's no disguising what this is or what I've done with it!! Apart from some of the filter work done using the Nik Software suite - particularly the vignette blur tool.

Description of Historic Place

The Navy Hall stands alone in a carefully manicured park setting just below Fort George National Historic Site. Designed with clear, clean lines, it is a low, rectangular, stone-clad structure with a hipped-roof clad in copper, and with a symmetrical organization of its windows and entry points. The designation is confined to the footprint of the building.

Heritage Value

The Navy Hall is a Recognized Federal Heritage Building because of its historical associations, and its architectural and environmental values.

Historical Value:

The Navy Hall is a very good example of a building associated with the beginnings of the heritage movement in the first half of the 20th century. It illustrates changing approaches to the management of important historic buildings over time. In particular, it illustrates the role of aesthetics in conservation in the 1930s. Originally a commissariat storehouse, regular troops, the militia and also the Boy Scouts used the building, built in 1815. In the 1930s, the building was taken over by the Niagara Parks Commission.

Architectural Value:

The Navy Hall is valued for its good aesthetic design. The exterior fabric of the structure, the stone cladding, the copper clad roof, and the enhanced symmetry of the fenestration are features of the 1930s intervention. These features, clearly of a later era and philosophy, reflect the classical revival tastes of the period and the design idiom of the Niagara Parks Commission. Good functional design is evidenced in the placement of doors and windows, and in the spatial arrangement and planning of the interior.

Environmental Value:

The Navy Hall reinforces the landscaped parkway that runs along the Niagara lakefront and is a familiar landmark to residents and to visitors.

Character-Defining Elements

The character-defining elements of the Navy Hall should be respected.

Its good aesthetic, good functional design and good quality materials and craftsmanship, for example:

-the simple, rectangular massing.

-the low-pitched hipped roof, the copper roof cladding, and the symmetrically placed chimneys.

-the stone cladding of the exterior walls, the small multi-paned windows and large entrances.

-the interior spatial arrangement of the principal rooms.

The manner in which the Navy Hall reinforces the landscaped setting and is a familiar landmark, as evidenced by:

-its simple design and materials that harmonize with the landscaped parkway consisting of well-maintained lawns and walks, all introduced as part of the Niagara Park Commission’s parkway landscaping in the 1930s.

-its visibility and recognition by those frequenting the parkway and the National Historic Site.

Leucophaeus atricilla

(Laughing gull / Gaviota reidora americana)

The laughing gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) is a medium-sized gull of North and South America. Named for its laugh-like call, it is an opportunistic omnivore and scavenger. It breeds in large colonies mostly along the Atlantic coast of North America, the Caribbean, and northern South America.

The two subspecies are: L. a. megalopterus – which can be seen from southeast Canada down to Central America, and L. a. atricilla which appears from the West Indies to the Venezuelan islands. The laughing gull was long placed in the genus Larus until its present placement in Leucophaeus, which follows the American Ornithologists' Union.
