I used a little LED light to light the inside, and a flash on low power to light the outside. I think the focal plane in this image is really interesting too.

Taken for today's Looking Close... on Friday! theme of pushpins. I like this image, but the pushpins are actually pewter, so I ended up doing a mono version, too. I wasn't sure which one to post to the group but finally, chose the b/w, which if my next post. HLCoF
I don't usually post two photos on the same day, and especially not two of the same object, but I really couldn't decide between these two.

Previously the jar contained my homemade jam. The label is homemade, too. It is my photo of the view from our house at Rocky Butte. Mt Hood is obscured by the coin.
...woven using recycled cloth for the interior. The weaving structure is called "rep" and is widely used to make anything from larger rugs to small coasters. A cheap and environmentally friendly way to re-use/recycle old material. Washable and very durable .. here the interior was part of an old bedsheet! I love these placemats - they are large, sturdy and very colourful too!

These are constructed similarly to the coasters. Staggering the fabric blocks was a very smart move - accuracy wasn't my strong suit with these.

This is the front of the one I sent to Julie, jgmehlin. Liberated crosses with Fassetts and black/white fabrics. Organic horizontal quilting. Scrappy binding.

Barb (quilting barbie) totally went above and beyond and made me everything I could hope for! "I Spy" placemats for the girls and green ones for my husband and I, 2 hotpads, and 5 amazing little magnets PLUS some extra fabric of some of my favorites! Barb I love ya! :)

Four place mats I made for my sister. Fall print fabric fat quarters from Dollar Tree with appliqued leaf and freehand machine quilting. Nov. 2025
Made from a folded placemat--just sew a few lines where you want the pockets. I did the embroidery before the pockets were sewn. This would be an easy thing to make to house any kind of card sets, etc.
This is the back of the placemat I made and sent to Julie, jgmehlin. Funky birds to liven up the back, organic quilting, removable leaves/label attached with snaps. Shot cotton background, appliqued birds. HST border on 2 sides. I'm very pleased with how it came out, but need to relax more when doing "liberated". I'm too persnickety I guess and I like order! lol
Just noticed- the color is pretty washed out on this- the greens are much brighter.

Sing a song of sixpence.. Here is the placemat that I made for Lucinda. I can post now that I know she has received it. The circle was made with a circular foot attachment that fixes to my machine. I programmed the words in and did the inner decorative stitching..as in blackbirds ; )
Crazy Tuesday: Reflections
I folded a plastic silver placemat with a cut-out design around a small round mirror (bottom half of photo). WIndow light came through the cut-outs and created this effect. This is a colour photo.
Partner - I hope you like and can use these placemats. I was thinking of keeping them for myself! ;)
