According to the Audubon Field Guide: This is the smallest bird in North America, measuring about 3 inches long and weighing about one-tenth of an ounce (same as a pingpong ball!) I cropped him down to stay under the MM size requirements. Just a little bit more turn and all the gorget feathers would have lit up with a bright purple glow!

A tall tree of the Malvaceae family, 10-15m tall. The leaves are elliptical and simple, 20-30cm long and 8-10cm wide. Small, fragrant white flowers bloom in 10-15cm panicles from the leaf axils.

The Japanese name comes from the Chinese name "pingpo." Although the English name is Pingpong, it has no relation to table tennis. It is native to southern China.

We were over at my sister's house tonight having a little ping pong action. I couldn't resist the lure of taking some pictures and toying with some fun lighting.

Lighting info: sb-600 (bare) high camera-left @ 1/4 and sb-800 (also bare) directly behind Rachel @ 1/8 and tilted up at about 45 degrees or so.

The white circles are reflection of the lights from the glass :) Taken from Macau Art Museum (Ceramics Exhibition). As I was uploading, I remembered this lady who's transforming 3D into a 2D through photos. Click this and this, it's really worth checking.

Under the underpass there are public ping pong tables. Quiet in the winter and in fading light they strain their eyes to play. They stopped a minute after this.

Not the first Ping Pong restaurant that has caught my eye sufficiently to get my camera out.

This one was catching the light lovely during an early Saturday morning wander.

Bonus pigeon too (love a lone pigeon in a London shot)
