The Washington State Historical Society has such a cool building. It's not a boat museum, as the name would imply. It's named after a founder and early leader of Tacoma Washington.

Yesterday (9/11) was the first clear day here in my part of Yakima County so I took a chance that it would also be a beautiful day at Chinook Pass. It was a beautiful day after the fog lifted a few minutes after I arrived. I got a number of wildlife and landscape photos. I will start by posting marmot photos. I walked up the hill south of the west side of Chinook Pass to find these relatively easy to approach marmot families. I saw 6 and heard the shrill whistle of several more.

It has been almost 2 weeks since I was at Chinook Pass and took this marmot photo a short distance from Highway 410 in Mount Rainier National Park. I previously uploaded some of the bird photos that i took there. IMG_0724

Perfect morning to photograph something crossing what I think of as the Mickey Mouse lift bridge over the St. Croix River in Prescott, Wisconsin. BNSF 5863 leads mixed freight over the bridge at the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers along the former CB&Q. Another spot I have not shot in many years, mostly because I swing through here later in the day when the sun swings to the west. I think of Prescott as a morning photo spot.
