I've always been a fan of this EMD cab design. With Metra getting these F59s and WSOR recently acquiring mostly three-piece former UP SD60Ms, I'm going to be much busier in my backyard than normal.
Metra train 2135 storms west in the fading light just east of Ingleside with rebuilt F59s No. 97 and 99.
The history of bottle stoppers goes back to the early days of wine production, when wine was stored and transported in wooden barrels. My goal on this hike was Gobbler's Knob and maybe the Marine Crash Memorial, but as I humped along it was like turning a page in a book or watching a play unfold. Each bend in the trail brought a new scene, new story, and having it shrouded in fog just added to it. I could have stayed here all day and waited for a show, I hope the guy in the tent did.

The Tornado is the spectacular centerpiece of the Fenix. Made of stainless steel and featuring two majestic wooden staircases, it is the latest architectural addition to Rotterdam. Designed by Ma Yansong of the Chinese firm MAD Architects, the Tornado is both a work of art and a panoramic platform. Located in the heart of the museum, it connects the ground floor, the first floor, and the rooftop observation deck. Beyond its practical function, the staircases symbolize the central theme of the Fenix: migration.
