Continuing with my Pokemon/Nintendo and Harry Potter Fanboy...isms I took a shot of all the pokemon games that Emma and I own in the order that I got them :)

1st: Pokemon Yellow - I got this with my first game boy from my mum and dad. It was the best present ever cuz everyone else my age had one and I could join in :) - best parents ever.

I didn't get Red/Blue for AGES after that. Cuz as you know when you get to grade 8-end of highschool pokemon is no longer "cool" and you are outcasted if you like or play them. so Red and Blue came in my second year of college :) - I got them for $10 for both

I beat them and then got Leaf Green to play before Diamond came out. Emma then got FireRed to play with me. Then I got Sapphire to go along with it.

Then Emma and I got Diamond (me) and Pearl (her) and then the next year got Platinum

And then this Year we got Heart Gold (Emma) and Soul Silver (me) which came with the PokeWalker :) - I'd have shot Emma's PW too with this, but she took hers to work :)

So this collection was 12 years in the making, but it's pretty nice. I have caught all of the pokemon that are available. :) - Proud of that to be honest, because by the time Diamond came around there were 493 or something.... so it wasn't easy!

Emma and I are (im)patiently awaiting PKmn Black and White Spring next year :)

My Pokemon team in EVERY Pkmn game is:

Pikachu

Butterfree

Pidgeotto

Bulbasaur

Charizard

Squirtle

I am a nerd, and am really proud of it!

Styled after the classical sailor's tattoo's of swallows, the notoriously superstitious Pokemon Masters will sometimes tattoo themselves with the likeness of Pidgeotto, whom is said to carry the souls of the fallen to the afterlife.

**If anyone wants to actually get this as a tatoo, go right ahead! Click on all sizes and the "ridiculously huge" image for the best quality. CC licensed, just send pictures!**

Some of the Pokemon Japanese Candy premiums that were available several years ago. I wouldn't eat the candy anymore since these are from 10+ years ago but amazingly it does still look good (scary!).

The premium in these are figures which I always called finger puppets since they are hollow on the bottom and fit well on fingers but most kids I've known use them as role playing models when playing the game. I guess though they are officially referred to as "Pokémon Kids" so there it is. :)

In Sailormoon they would be referred to as "chibi" which means small.

I'll have more pictures of the figures and the cards that come in the Gameboy boxes soon.

UPDATE: Better pictures are up! :)

The boxes at the top feature the birds/flyers but have other characters. The ones I have include Zapdos (サンダー), Moltros ((ファイヤー), and Mr. Mime (バリヤード) (oh, and Koffing!).

The boxes with Mew (& Clefable) on the front are fashioned to look like a Gameboy but that doesn't mean he's inside the box. The number & name in Japanese on the top corresponds to what's inside.

The boxes with Ash on the front have the various human characters inside which include the Ash figure pictured on the front. These are a 1999 Bandai Candy Toy premium.

More Pokémon Finger Puppets here including pics of each kind of box with a sample pup/kid (or two) out of the box.

====

Okay, I spent a couple hours figuring it out (with a flashlight because the figures and numbers are soooo small on the boxes and on the cards inside) so here's the list of Pokemon in the boxes as the numbers do not match up with the Anglo numbers:

About the bead sprite:

2,511 Beads

A fairly large sprite, I chose this one because of it's pose. I had Pidgey just standing there so I thought an action pose would be a nice contrast. It's interesting to me that Pidgey doesn't have the red feathers at all, but Pidgeotto does, and Pidgeot has giant ones. Had I been more patient, I would have waited for the lightest brown to use for the belly color, but I think this turned out okay.

What my Fiancée calls this Pokemon:

She made an angry bird noise when I showed her this one...

Facts & Trivia:

Pidgeotto's design appears to be less of a pigeon and more of an osprey or other bird of prey. There are a couple in-game Pokedex entries that state Pidgeotto will peck it's prey, but Pidgeotto cannot learn Peck. Pidgeotto and its evolutionary line are the only Normal-type Pokémon to learn Twister by leveling up. They were the only ones to even be capable of knowing it before Platinum. In FireRed and LeafGreen, the player's rival has a Level 17 Pidgeotto when battled in Cerulean City, although Pidgey does not evolve until Level 18.

I chose the more regal perched look for this guy since I chose the action pose with wings open for Pidgeotto. I think it adds a progression of both look and attitude to the lot. Again, I spent a good amount of time "researching" his exact look in order to get the plumage looking the best. The original sprite makes poor Pidgeot look like he was carved out of a block of wood, but I had him in my original Elite Four team because of his speed and stats.

Premium furikake in a special gold package!

On the packets are Pidgeotto, Gligar, Scizor, Togepi, Growlithe, while the tiny toy figure premium is Mankey.

Don't know that these are any different flavor-wise than the Pokemon Furikake Packages I've already had up for awhile but it's certainly an effective way to generate new excitement if only psychologically.

The packets though are also metalic as is the outside of the boxes.

These come 5 to a box, each box with one of the tiny figure toys. Choose fave box and fave toy figure. This particular box is the only one of its kind so these are the packets that come with it (though they do have another side with other pocket monsters).

These too though are from circa 1998 - 2000 as are all the Furikake I have with their collectible premiums so no longer available in stores even in Japan. The Silver version is in the previous photo along with many more of the cute Pokemon premiums.

Also included in this pic is one of the adorable but tiny figure premiums that come in the boxes though this one doesn't have to be the one that comes with this box.

All these (and more) need new homes as I'm going to a different country for an extended stay soon so send me a Flickr Mail message (access through the arrow that appears near my profile photo when mousing over it) if interested.

One of my favourite bird Pokémon!

My Pokémon Safari is a set dedicated to me searching for all the wonderful Pokémon from my childhood as I design posters from the 1st Generation Pokémon.

Bead count: 2511

Pidgeotto was one of my first major triumphs as well. It is a very large sprite that spans 10 boards. I remember looking at it completed on the board and being immensely happy with it. I really wish I hadn't ironed both sides and it may be one that I slightly tweak in the future (colors in feet and one side ironed), but I am satisfied with it. I felt like a wildlife biologist when I was making it as I was looking at stills from the show and artwork to try to get the plumage just right. I liked Pidgeotto in the anime, but when I caught it in red version I was wondering why it looked so fat. He slims down again in later version, but it was another I rushed to evolve because of a less than charming model.

Bead count: 2684

I avoided making this guy for a really long time. I knew I wanted to use a different set of browns than the Pidgey line as Fearow is definitely more of a golden brown, but I wasn’t sure what to do. I'm pretty happy with it, and I’m definitely glad it has a very different feel than Pidgeotto or Pidgeot.

Baby pigeon my daddy saved. It was found in our pool still can't fly yet but we'll take good care of it 'til then. I named him/her Pidgeotto. :3

Prisma pencils and watercolor. Realistic pokemon drawing. Encyclopedia reference was used for the pose.

Every few weeks I make the drive out to Durham from DTR to get my haircut here at #dennisbestmenssalon @donnie_van_savage has been cutting my hair for 4 years and it’s amazing. These dudes are literally the best. Dennis even cuts my wife’s hair sometimes. So if you want an oldschool barbershop feel with legit modern cuts (and a few beer or two), check these guys out. Now it’s time to get my pidgeotto on, as my boy @mikesaidthis says. And for the drive back to Cary let’s listen to The Island by @paradeoflightsmusic / on Instagram www.instagram.com/p/BMPIDiyB4tx/

A mixure of Pokemon and Digimon creatures, all united together though they're all different and all individuals. A lesson could be learnt from this... =]
