This little guy flew into one of my windows and took a break next to the pond to shake it off. He flew off after a few minutes.
Rare ducklings from a Pekin male duck who mated with a Muscovy female. This pairing only has a 20-30% chance of fertility and their offspring, called hinnies, are sterile (like mules).
We swung by the Great Salt Lake in Utah while driving through on a road trip, and were mesmerized by the pelicans. They were in the shallows, and would swim in a line, and then form a circle and all dive down and come back up. Apparently, this is how they cooperatively fish!
This female humpback was astoundingly curious about our boat. We had 3 encounters where she went down to feed and then came back up, swimming under and around our boat, coming right up along side, flipping over and rubbing herself on the back of the boat, and sometimes just giving us belly like a puppy. - South of the San Juans, North of Port Angeles/Port Townsend, Whale Watching Trip with Island Adventures out of Anacortes, WA on August 1, 2016
