A daydream shot for this wintry day.
Would be wonderful to enjoy a leasurely picnic on that nicely located picnic table with Jasper's Pyramid Peak reflected in Pyramid Lake.
Come join me.....

Yes folks, temperatures are dropping, and in the U.S. Upper Midwest, at least, it's safe to say that the sun has set on another outdoor picnic season... :-(
HBM!
I had my Nikon resting on the picnic table and snake just slithered on by it and down the other side of the table.
I had several takers last week to sit in the hot seat (see www.flickr.com/photos/123895834@N08/22642861577/in/datepo... ). Last night's snow will make all except those with really hot buns choose a different place to sit. HBM!

No, it's not a double exposure. It's a reflection on the glass as I peered from outside with my camera through a window of a restored 19th-century farm house near Ringwood, Illinois.
Known as the Powers-Walker House, the home, built in 1854, features historically accurate furnishings, some of which you can see through the glass here. But the reflection also includes a picnic table with benches, so I'm calling this a Bench Monday shot. 😄

The snow came early this year in Southeast Michigan, but it didn't seem to bother this trio of Sandhill Cranes seen grazing near the picnic tables across the frozen lake. You can zoom in to see the Cranes more clearly.

our temporary abode for eight days on the Lofoten was ever so cosy with the whole archipelago sinking into deep winter. I shot this while standing outside watching the night sky but looking back this scene looked so beautiful, it needed to be captured.

Three miles north of Sydney There is this RR Trestle, a babbling brook and a picnic table. I've had lunch or snack here many times.

- Music: To Wish Impossible Things by The Cure
Remember how it used to be
When the sun would fill up the sky
Remember how we used to feel
Those days would never end
Those days would never end
Remember how it used to be
When the stars would fill the sky
Remember how we used to dream
Those nights would never end
Those nights would never end
It was the sweetness of your skin
It was the hope of all we might have been
That fills me with the hope to wish
Impossible things
But now the sun shines cold
And all the sky is grey
The stars are dimmed by clouds and tears
And all I wish
Is gone away
All I wish
Is gone away
All I wish
Is gone away

This is for my dear friend, Monique (www.flickr.com/photos/rockinmonique), who gave me the tiny picnic bench and Kimmidoll, and who blew the bubbles for me while I was shooting. What a fun afternoon that was!
Unfortunately the sun was so strong that morning. And I over exposed the shot. So I had to do a heavy treatment to make this picture look even somewhat reasonable. But I think at least you can see the framing I was trying to achieve. :)
One of many corners of the forest, Bursa Province, Turkey...with a solitary picnic table, no guests, it was chilly at the start of March!
Sitting pretty on the picnic table and about to fly over and feed on one of the oranges that my brother-in-law puts out for these beauties.
They're currently migrating through but won't be here long, unfortunately. I was delighted to get a few good captures of them and I'll probably post a couple more shortly :)
