While I was downtown the other day I saw these two together and thought it made an interesting capture.
It rained all night so I guess I won't be taking that group out to Bull Creek on Sunday. The good news is, the creeks are going to look really great in about a week when they go from brown to green.

PICK 40043 somewhere in Chicago on May 28th, 1974. The Pickens was an NRUC road, and thusly had many IPD boxcars on their roster. This car was one of 75 cars rebuilt from 40' boxcars by USRE (Although later on they would be assembling their own car kits as "Golden Tye" for other NRUC roads). Don Dover took this photo. It is one of at least two frames he shot of this car; another frame showing the car from the other end appears in the James Kinkaid IPD book. JL Sessa collection
After starting the day in the squirrel forest yesterday, I ended it in the lovely primrose forest (Primula vulgaris). I just had to pick a few for my mother-in-law and myself to fill our houses with their lovely scent.
If my mother lived closer, I would pick some for her birthday today as well. But she got a delivery on her door instead ツ

We took a spur-of-the-moment trip over to Hockum Rock Farm's pick your own Blueberry patch today and were rewarded with more blueberries than we could handle. Good thing because my 4 little bushes dropped all but maybe a dozen berries this year.

At home the trash can in the kitchen has a lid.
Down at the shore, it does not.
Pearl discovered this pretty quickly!
She fished an empty dog food can out, peeled the label off and polished off every last crumb stuck on the inside.
Yeah.......time to get a trashcan with a lid down here!
catch up with everyone tonight.....it's a beautiful day out......I'm gone! Bye Bye!
Those of us who were out on Pan Am yesterday had a choice - either summer midday high sun, or a cloud-fucking. As you can see, I got the latter at Middlesex Street in Lowell. Just a few blocks away, a few other guys got the former at Lowell Tower. The train would continue on to New Hampshire, where it would tie down overnight on the Portsmouth Branch, resuming its homeward journey today.
At least they had the decency to run it on my day off work.
