March 14, 2021. Boston, MA.

A group of 5th graders rallied, (physically distanced and masked) in front of the Massachusetts State House to draw attention to the ongoing eviction crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Organizers stated that despite a patchwork of emergency eviction prevention efforts at the state and federal levels, judges have okayed 1,500 evictions in Massachusetts since Gov. Baker ended the state-wide eviction moratorium. Additionally over 10,000 new and pending eviction cases have progressed since the moratorium was allowed to expire, putting tens of thousands of people at risk of homelessness during a pandemic.

Exacerbating the eviction crisis is the looming expiration date of the federal eviction moratorium, enacted through the CDC, which is scheduled to end on the 31st of this month.

5th graders involved in Boston Workers Circle and supporters from City Life/Vida Urbana spoke out to stop non-emergency evictions in the pandemic (including pandemic debt-related evictions, no-fault evictions, and evictions due to a landlord's refusal to accept rent relief).

Using street theater, signs, and speeches, they called on the Massachusetts legislature to immediately enact the COVID-19 Housing Equity Bill, HD. 3030 / SD. 1802, which was recently crafted by the Homes For All Massachusetts coalition. Homes For All Massachusetts is a coalition of grassroots housing justice groups across the state, led by residents on the frontlines of the eviction crisis.

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra distributed three-wheelers to over 200 physically challenged persons in New Delhi. On Late Rajiv Gandhi's birthday it was supposed to be distributed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi but due to her illness it got postponed.

Rahul and Priyanka, interacted with almost all the people who were given motorised three-wheelers by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and spent some time with them.

They went to almost every single person, exchanged pleasantries with them and heard their problems.

In the last episode of the Rural China series, China Daily reporter D J Clark visits villagers in Qinghai province to find out how the recently announced Chinese rural development policy, that will guide developments for the next ten years, meets the needs of some of China’s poorest communities.

The village of Duowa sits on the slopes of a deep dusty gorge. Here the promised developments of a new road, access to new schools in the county town, health insurance, pensions, tap water in every home and support for new agricultural technologies have all been met but not all are without controversy as D J Clark discovers. 08/02/2012, Duowa, China.

I am a member of the Royal British Legion Riders Branch since 2009 and my tattoo represents a modern day ‘St George’ aboard a British built Triumph Rocket3 ‘war horse’ fighting the good fight against the dragon foe. Notice the representative poppies on the ground outside the dragons lair. ‘Lest we Forget’ I served in the army from 1974 to 1987 and during that time lost mates in Northern Ireland. i feel like shit today.

physically i feel really fever-ish, but i have no fever.

my face is so red and i'm overheated.

and i get these dizzy spells where i just feel dizzy and light headed and at the same time i want to puke my brains out.

i don't really know whats wrong with me.

and emotionally i've just been feeling really down the past few days.

i'm sure i'll shake out of it

but i just feel like somethings not right

or somethings missing.

i feel like certain parts of my life are deteriorating and i can't do anything about them.

and even if i could, i feel like i wouldn't because the sadness in my heart is so unbelievably painful that i feel as if this is just a horrible dream, and i'll wake up any minute.

The Alcazar in Seville. There's quite a lot to write about this.

Physically...it's located in the monumental zone of Seville, within sight of the Archive of the Indies and the Seville Cathedral.

History... This exact site has been occupied since the 8th century B.C. (Hello, Phoenicians!) The College of Olearians was on this plot o' land beginning in the 1st century A.D. (Thanks, Romans!) An early Visigothic church was built on the ruins of that. (That'd be the Basilica of Saint Vincent.) Hey, the Moor the better! They came along in 712 and ruled Seville for about 5 centuries (different Moorish empires) during which time they expanded the buildings a little bit. Finally, the Christians took the town back in the mid-13th century and demolished almost everything...just to rebuild it...in Mudejar fashion. (What is Mudejar? It's an architectural style that means...Christians imitating Muslim style without the actual Muslims. Something along those lines.) Which brings us to...

Today...it's a palace (technically palaces; the Spanish name is Reales Alcazares...and the royal family still owns this place and has residence here. All of the second floor...their private digs.) The tour guide enjoyed using the word "pastiche," and...it is. Beautiful as this place is, it's a mix...Gothic palace, gardens, Casa del Asistente, Casa de la Contratacion, Mudejar, and a very little of the original Moorish construction (Patio del Yeso). Basically a mix of a whole lot of different...stuff. For example, in the Casa de la Contratacion, you'll find the Capilla de la Virgen de los Navegantes (Admirals' Room).

Most folks seem about 99% certain that this is the room where Queen Isabel awaited as Columbus returned from the New World for the first time. His coat of arms is hanging on the wall here, opposite a painting that has him in it. (His coat of arms has the royal coats of Castilla y Leon, plus some Caribbean islands, plus anchors....with the inscription "Columbus gave a new world to Castille and Leon."

A lot happened on these grounds. Births (and maybe deaths), intrigue, legends. It's a beautiful, fascinating place.

Feeling physically and emotionally drained today.. but at least I’m taking the time to upload a photo.

I actually thought about stopping my 365 project today. I feel like the whole point of this was to grow as a photographer and to try new things, but I’m finding it extremely difficult to do so on a day to day basis.

Maybe I just need a good nights sleep..

3 august 2006

there is too much cruelty in the world, and there's not a hell of a lot i can do to change that. i can only do my part, and i hope, pray, that others start to open their eyes and try to do their part as well.

the only things i can do...

- i give my dogs the best i can, emotionally and physically...i do whatever i can to let them be real dogs.

- they are adoption dogs...matea was trial adopted twice before she was returned...morley was given up at 9 yrs of age for no good reason (not that there are any truly good reasons, in my books)

- i will never buy a puppy from anyone, even a conscientious breeder...not while there are dogs in need...and you wanna bet that - given my penchant for training and bonding with my dogs - the greatest thing i could imagine is having a dog as a pup, to be able to shape it and encourage it instead of having to pick up some asshole's pieces and mistakes in a thrown-away dog. but no matter how amazing the experience of a dog-from-a-pup would be, i could never, and WILL never.

- i live by a sense of humanity that my parents instilled in me growing up on a family hobby farm where we grew and raised almost everything we ate. death was a part of life, and a part of eating. but we raised and killed our animals with humaneness and deep respect...reverence, in fact. i eat beef perhaps once a month, and admittedly i have no idea where it came from or what horrors the animal went through in a commercial feed lot and slaughterhouse, because my once-a-month steak is eaten at a restaurant. however, the only other meat i eat is chicken, and i drive way out into the country to buy it...it is free-range raised, and i have to hope humanely killed.

- i don't consume much dairy at all, mostly because of my migraines, however, if i did, i would do whatever possible to buy from local farmers, not supermarkets where the dairy products come from mass-dairy farms.

- my dogs, on the other hand, eat nothing but meat. there, i do what i can to ensure i buy only animals that were humanely raised and slaughtered....without terror and fear. i am a hypocrite in that i can't watch the killing but in the case of my lambs, goats and rabbits, i know they were humanely killed, and as i skin and gut them, i do it - as i was raised - with deep reverence. AND i do whatever i can to use as much of the animal as possible so that there is less waste in their death.

- i buy nothing with fur, not even dog toys, as these are often made of other dog and cat fur imported from china or other places.

- i don't tolerate waste of any kind, and do what i can to not contribute to the destruction of our earth and natural habitats.

i don't do all these things so i can feel proud or good or holier-than-thou. i do it because i hope and pray it makes even a small difference.

i don't want any applause or pats on the back or 'way-to-go' comments in my photostream for the way i live my life, i only hope that maybe others can learn by the example i set. i hope the way i live my life might make at least one or two people think twice, self-educate, and perhaps change their ways, even in a small way.

i'm tired of crying for all the pain and suffering of the innocent animals in this world, dogs especially who have been domesticated to bond and work for us, not be eaten or clubbed to death or skinned alive or gased in some steel box in hicksville, USA. i'm tired of the anger that brews up inside me, tired of the visualizations of beating another human for their senseless cruelty. i'm tired of feeling like i don't even want to be a part of this planet.

i do what i can...it's a drop in the bucket...and i know it should be more...

Theropithecus gelada

Theropithecus gelada can be physically distinguished from baboons by the bright patch of skin on its chest. This patch is hourglass-shaped, and on males, bright red and surrounded by white hair. On females the patch is far less pronounced. However, when in oestrus, the female's patch will brighten, and a "necklace" of fluid-filled blisters forms on the patch. This is thought to be analogous to the swollen buttocks common to most baboons experiencing oestrus. This modification likely came about due to the Gelada's unique mode of feeding - it spends most of its waking hours grazing from an upright sitting position, rump hidden beneath and so unavailable for display. The male Gelada's tail is about as long as the body and densely tufted at the tip; it also has a long and flowing mantle and mane.

Not all socks can stand to physically intense sports like basketball. The players are bound to generate a lot of sweat on the feet, not to mention the constant pressure that is put on the calf and feet muscles. Therefore, you or your loved ones deserve the best basketball socks that keep the feet fresh, dry, and blister-free.

I happened to join this group of kind compassionate Buddhists in a visit to a Handicapped Home located at Bukit Tengah, Bukit Mertajam, Penang. I was so overwhelmed by these physically and mentally handicapped inmates that I need to have a series documented and dedicated to these less fortinate fellow human beings in this world.

I'm just not really a physically destructive person. I'd love to be one of those people who can scream and shout and throw plates to exorcise their rage, but I know it would be me that would have to clean it up and that takes all of the impetus out of it.

So my attempt at destruction for today's TRP extended to two eggs in an attempt to get a cool "mid-shatter" shot, which then in turn caused my Panasonic to have another temperamental moment. So maybe I did break something after all....

every once and awhile i physically cannot pay attention in math

my focus drifts to the world outside the window or the students walking past the door

sometimes i look at peoples' different shoes and their shoelaces

it doesn't matter what, i still can't get myself to look at the board...it makes me brain ache

so today i sat in math class and drew this hideous looking girl

i'd draw anything in that class to keep myself from learning about logarithms

Interstate 26 (I-26) is a nominally east–west (but physically more northwest–southeast diagonal) main route of the Interstate Highway System in the Southeastern United States. I-26 runs from the junction of U.S. Route 11W (US 11W) and US 23 in Kingsport, Tennessee, generally southeastward to US 17 in Charleston, South Carolina.[2] The portion from Mars Hill, North Carolina, east (compass south) to I-240 in Asheville, North Carolina, has signs indicating FUTURE I-26 because the highway does not yet meet all of the Interstate Highway standards. A short realignment as an improvement in the freeway was also planned in Asheville, but has been postponed indefinitely due to North Carolina's budget shortfalls.[3] Northwards from Kingsport, US 23 continues to Portsmouth, Ohio, as Corridor B of the Appalachian Development Highway System, and beyond to Columbus, Ohio, as Corridor C. In conjunction with the Columbus–Toledo, Ohio, corridor formed by I-75, US 23, and State Route 15, I-26 forms part of a mostly high-speed four-or-more-lane highway from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Coast at Charleston, South Carolina. There are no official plans for extensions north of Kingsport, Tennessee.

The pilgrimage to Makkah (the Hajj) is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for those who are physically and financially able. Over two million people, from all corners of the globe, go for Hajj each year making it the largest gathering for peace. Hajj provides a unique opportunity for people from different nations meet one another.

The annual Hajj begins in the twelfth month of the Islamic year. The Islamic year is lunar, consequently Hajj occurs throughout all seasons during one's lifetime.

Pilgrims enter a state of sacredness where arguing and fighting, cutting a plant or even harming a fly is prohibited. They wear simple garments that strip away distinctions of class and culture, so that all stand equal before God.

The rites of the Hajj go back to Abraham and his family. They include visiting the Ka'bah and standing together on the wide plains of 'Arafat (a large expanse of desert outside of Makkah). Here pilgrims pray for God's forgiveness, in what is often considered a preview of the Day of Judgment. The Hajj provides a unique opportunity for Muslims to reflect on their lives, to refocus on God, and to return to their families and homes spiritually rejuvenated.

The close of the Hajj is marked by the Festival of Sacrifice, Eid al Adha. Pilgrims sacrifice a sheep or goat, commemorating Abraham's readiness to sacrifice his own son. The sacrificial meat is distributed to the needy. Muslims around the world celebrate this day with prayers, ritual sacrifice, and an exchange of gifts.

Staring out that dark window

There seemed no light insight

Through all of her journey

She never had to physically fight

Things changed so quickly then

eyes opened now and there she was

The other one Daddi called slave

But now she was only Daddi’s sub

The other one walked all over her

Yet she stayed despite living in a fog

Never in her entire life

She was being treated like a dog

It was ok stated her Daddi

You are my first, you are my light

But when the sub was not around

Daddi’s slave would always be right

She asked why this new one held;

more power in Daddi’s life than she.

Daddi would falsely reassure her

don’t worry my girl just let it be

Despite this Daddi made many plans

To move the sub closer to the other

To this she could not consent

Not only Daddi’s sub; she was a mother.

The slave tried to convince her

That they were sisters in serving then

But always behind her back

The slave knew the sub’s fate was grim

She stumbled upon their letters

Daddi telling the slave how she truly felt

Daddi secretly hated the sub

Even when in servitude she knelt

In her love for her Daddi she served

The only way that she knew how

Yes Daddi took care of the boys

and that wasn’t a problem until now

Daddi grew mean as she transformed

From sadistic into being cruel

When it all came into light

The sub now felt like the fool

Her Daddi blamed the meds she took

The sub learned to know fear everyday

Her Daddi’s changes grew unbelievably

No matter what the sub would never stray

She awoke that night with tears

It burned and with no where to escape

The tearing inside was unbearable

with Daddi’s fist she was now being raped

The hands around her neck

Told her it was time to let it go

She loved her Daddi with all heart

But the fear was starting to grow

The pain was once only internal

Yet now with external pain too

Her eyes filled with tears

she had no idea what to do...

I felt something quite physically powerful, I guess in a psychological kind of way, when I rotated this picture... I was drawn to it, decided that it infact belongs this way around, despite what Gravity'll tell you. It seems to have it's own gravity - deal with it! Thoughts?

I was considering getting a ~10mm kinda' wide angle lens... but for the price they go at I think I've found a much better solution, considering I need to save pennies for other lenses right this minute! This is using my WD-58 Wide Converter video WA Lens for my old Canon XM2... fits the 18-55mm IS Kit Lens perfectly (which is incredibly sharp glass, don't let the kit-lens-haters tell you otherwise!) Also knocks out decent aperture width compared to super-wide lenses... this is quite a winning combo!

Also; This glass is enough to damage a kit lens or even a more expensive lens if left to throw it's weight around too much... I don't leave this glass attached for too long and I support it whilst in use - I'm pretty sure I've slightly damaged the older, less solid Canon Kit 18-55mm lens a few years back, I don't want to harm my IS model - but I freaking love what these things can do together!

Here I present my take on the Gunderson (or Greenbrier) Maxi iv’s. This is the first MOC of mine that I’ve physically built. Whilst I found this a rewarding experience, it inevitably threw up a few issues. I was very conservative with the spacing between units to try and accommodate R40 track, however I’ve found I really don’t like the spacing and have since redesigned the middle bogies to bring the cars 2 studs closer together. This has also lead to my first experience with ball bearings, which has turned out to be a frustrating experience. As a result, I’m awaiting delivery of some new axels that better fit the bearings. The reference images used for the design were from Kato N scale models. Whilst I think I’ve replicated that design well, I feel the model is lacking a bit of overall detail which I’ll look to add at a later date - I just need to find some better reference material first. That being said, I’m not too happy with the stairs design either, and will look for alternatives. The model itself is big! Predominantly 8 wide but peaking at 9.8 wide with the stairs, and coming in at 180 studs long. Surprisingly it cost around £130 to build which I thought was good - most likely due to the number of elements I could get from the local PAB wall. I went to order parts for the containers (not my design) last night, but that proved cost prohibitive, so I’m just finalising a design of my own which should be cheaper, despite having a few more details (but not sticker friendly).

In the later images I’ve copied the design and modified the well length to serve as a basis for Maxi I cars, but yet to address further elements to represent that design. I also decided to mess around with colour options to try and represent Maersk cars. The lightest colour (1/3) I feel is the closest match, but lacking numerous elements for a sleek design. 2/3 is the one I favour most, whilst I think it’s further from true Maersk colour, when I look at it in isolation it’s the one that’s ’most Maersk’ to me. The darkest (3/3) has the best part pallet in the colour, but I think it’s a shade too far. Originally I’d planned to build a 5 car rake as per the real thing, but at a provisional 244 studs long I might just settle for a 3 car rake.

The cars accommodate containers to the BMR intermodal standard.

Thoughts/feedback welcome.

Physically challenged students participating in competetion in SAMRAT 2014

Majestic Hills Ranch is a very dear place to me. They give lessons and work with disabled and mentally/physically challenged children. One of my horses is staying at the ranch being a very good helper. Kirby, is very special to me and I'm proud that he is helping there. They also rescue a lot of other animals, mostly horses.

I borrowed my boyfriend's camera, a Panasonic DMC-FZ28, to take these pictures. It was a gorgeous day!

CNN's award-winning chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, comes to BW to offer his unique perspective on how does the business of health care affect our health — physically and financially, personally and nationally. In addition to working as a journalist, Dr. Gupta is also a practicing neurosurgeon, teacher and author and has helped to inform public health policy as a White House Fellow.

The 1st Cavalry Division Bradley and Tank crews selected their firing order sequence as the Sullivan Cup 2022, hosted by the U.S. Army Armor School, formally began May 2 at Fort Benning, Georgia. The Sullivan Cup is a 2-week competition with physically and mentally demanding events, this world-class competition rigorously evaluates the platform operation, sustainment, and lethality skills of competing crews.

Best of luck to our “First Team” crews!

Physically illustrating Dr. Tyson's words :)
