Ah Professional Wrestling.. or as someone once called it, "Male Soap Opera". Full of all sorts of plots, storylines, and drama. While there are highs and lows with regards to the motivation of the players, the one thing that is consistent is the fact it is a very physically demanding occupation.
I don't watch any of it these days, but I was a bit more active during what is known as the "Attitude Era", which took place during the 2000s. This wonderful time made many prominent new stars, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, as well as continued the development of preexisting players like The Undertaker and of course, master of The Pedigree - Triple H, Hunter Hearst Hemsley, The Cerebral Assassin, The Game, The King of Kings... whatever you like to call him.
Picked him up on a whim cause he was cheap and more importantly, I had visions of Woody getting slammed and was curious how well articulated the wrestling bodies were.
My best guess is that this is based on a beefier standard body, and not the Tamashii Nations "Fighting Body" that the Street Fighter figures are based on.
Content wise, the set does alright. You get the figure, three total expressions (neutral, yelling, smiling), three sets of hands (closed fists, weapon grabbing fists, opening and closing fists), sledgehammer, and bottle of water. The only thing that would have been nice to add would have been a water spay effect.
Triple H certainly looks the part.. well mostly. The body is never going to be 100% accurate, but it does get his musculature and overall silhouette pretty accurately, with a somewhat undersized chest and honestly, not enough body hair for Attitude era Triple H.
The hair on his head, much like with Infinity War Widow, is gold instead of blonde, and is decently detailed for a figure of this size. Faces are hit and miss - the neutral face is fairly well done. They got expression, and the general shape of Triple H's brow, nose, and eyes. In the right light, you get a really good photo of him.
The yelling and laughing faces are... serviceable. In the right light, they're terrible, and you can be sure I had some fun with that.
Articulation isn't as refined as I'd like for a wrestling figure. I mean sure, the main points of articulation are there - ankles, double jointed knee, hips with thigh swivel, mid torso, shoulders with chest collapse, double jointed elbows with elbow twist, wrists, neck, and head. The hair, much like other figures with hair that drapes down close to the body, affects the ability of the figure to turn its head.
Ankles can rotate a full 360 degrees so you can replicate Kurt Angle breaking it, I suppose.
The chest collapse allows for pretty good replication of various holds, but the posing of the upper body is somewhat hampered by the elbows not allowing as deep a bend as I'd like.
While the hips pull down to allow for greater range of motion, the thighs are designed such in a full seated position they do no come together, which can make posing posing drivers or other seated slams a bit challenging.
Similar to the elbows, the knees could have used a bit more range of motion, but to do that you'd probably have to cut into the thigh and mess with silhouette.
From a paint perspective, he's deceptively simple looking. While not as vibrant as the other figures I've looked at. there's actually quite a bit of paint on the figure. For starters, the flesh coloured parts are almost all painted, with some dark airbrushing to emphasize muscles. It's the lack of colours that makes things hard to see. Overall, you get smooth paint applications, with average-at-best masking, especially given how simple the actual masking spots are. The digital face painting itself seems to be reasonably sharp, with the sculpt itself being what throws things off.
Build quality is what you expect - solid across the board. No issues with joint strength, limbs are the right length, parts hold together well, and no alignment issues. The finish isn't quite a strong as a Figma in terms of hiding seam lines, but again, Fiiguarts rarely are.
A neat figure and a pretty good Triple H, probably no worse off in terms of accuracy as any other figure based on a live action property. Not sure how well these (the WWE Figuarts line) sold, based on the pricing I've seen, but I imagine over here it's a bit tougher to get wrestling fans to buy based on the MSRP, even if the body and accuracy are better than your run of the mill figure. The sledgehammer was definitely a must have in this set... Triple H without a sledgehammer is like selling Stone Cold without a beer.
I've got a few interesting figures waiting to be unboxed, and one or two coming in the mail, a group of which includes a few things that effectively showed up because of "support local business" and aren't in my appetite.

Cyclone Amphan destroyed her stock of “Chaar”, or catching equipment for crabs made from bamboo. Her business of selling Chaar was steady before the Covid-19 pandemic, but that came to a halt soon after. She received cash support from UN Women as a victim of Cyclone Amphan as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, which she used to purchase raw materials for making new batches of Chaar. This helped her to resume selling the item again. Business has not been brisk compared to the pre-pandemic days six months ago, but at least now she has begun again.

These pictures from Gansu province were taken during a nine-day trip in May 2015. Gansu is a province at the geographical heart of China. Its capital, Lanzhou, is pretty close to the center of the country as can be from what I can tell by looking at maps.
Gansu, though, is most certainly considered west China by the Chinese. Physically, the province reminds me of a small dumbbell sitting on an angle. There’s a southern (southeastern) section that is slightly large and has a high elevation (often between 2,000-3,000 meters) with a higher concentration of Muslims and Tibetans than most other areas of China. When you get closer to Xiahe, where Labrang Monastery is located, road signs are both in Tibetan and Mandarin. The LP 2011 had listed three places of interest in southern Gansu: Milarepa Palace in Hezuo, Labrang Monstery in Xiahe (listed as one of the 30 “Must Dos” in China), and Langmusi down on the Sichuan border. I had originally intended to visit all three places, but ended up dropping Langmusi – the Alpine village – and spending an extra day out west.
So all told in the south, I spent a few overcast hours in Hezuo at Milarepa Palace (as quirky as I recall LP saying it is, but also something I could have done without) before spending two nights at the Overseas Tibetan Hotel about 100 meters outside the eastern gate of Labrang Monastery in Xiahe. Xiahe was mesmerizing to me. It reminded me a little of some western US towns: one wide, main street that runs the length of town and most of the buildings are two- or three-story establishments.
Xiahe is around 3,300 meters in elevation, so altitude sickness is mentioned a few times, though I never experienced any type of nausea. I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel (not extravagant, but nice and comfortable beds), the owner (Lohsang Amso – a good man – who can also arrange bike rental, local and regional travel, etc.) and the good folks a few doors down at the Snowy Mountain Cafe – which seems to only be open in the evening – but where you can eat yak…which I did. One night, I had Nepalese yak curry (Nepalese chicken curry the other night). Other than that, I was amazed at how close (and countless) the stars in the night sky seemed to be, but given the altitude and lack of surface light, it wasn’t unexpected…just amazing.
Having spent the previous day on a morning flight from Chengdu to Lanzhou (one provincial capital to another), an hour bus ride from Lanzhou Airport downtown, another 45 minute taxi ride across town (through horrendous traffic), a 4 hour bus ride from Lanzhou down to southern Gansu that ended in Hezuo, an hour or two at Milarepa Palace in Hezuo, then finally another 1-2 hour bus from Hezuo to Xiahe, I finally found myself plopping down on my bed at the Overseas Tibetan…sometime in early evening.
Though things didn’t go exactly as planned, they were close enough and I really had no complaints. My biggest surprise was the number of mosques I saw en route to Xiahe. (I hadn’t realized that the Muslim population in this particular region was quite so large.)
Upon waking the following morning – it was a Monday, I recall – I made the incredibly short walk to the Labrang Monastery. Labrang Monastery is a fascinating place. It was founded in 1709 by Ngagong Tsunde (first generation of the third in line behind the Dalai and Panchen Lamas). It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat sect) order of Tibetan Buddhism. Three of the other six are near Lhasa, one near Shigatse, and the other near Xining (Qinghai province).
This is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple (if I remember reading correctly) outside Tibet. To walk the entire kora (circumference of the temple with prayer wheels) is over a 3 km endeavor, which I undertook on that Monday morning.
It was a pleasant walk, rife with photographic opportunities – people don’t mind having their pictures taken, though the Tibetan monks…not so much. They had to give their permission, and usually didn’t want to, which was fine by me. Around the back (north) side of the monastery, there’s an outer kora trail up the mountain that would give a nice view, but I was frankly too lazy to take it (and didn’t find it, anyway).
And the people. Photographing people here (monks or otherwise) is just…a treasure trove waiting to happen. Regarding the monks living here, there apparently used to be about four thousand, but limits have been set to around 1,800 now. (All I’ll say is, like most places in China, the Cultural Revolution was none too kind...)
After walking the kora, I hung out at Everest Cafe (Lohsang’s restaurant at the Overseas Tibetan) for a no frills breakfast, then spent the remainder of the morning with a tour of the interior of the temple and wandering around the grounds. The monastery has a few different temples, monastic colleges, living residences…it’s really quite a large compound.
The day had started sunny, but by sundown was turning pretty cloudy, so no great sunset shots to be had here, and it was getting a bit chilly in the evening at that altitude, so as soon as it was evident there wouldn’t be any more shooting, I went on over to Snowy Mountain for a relaxing dinner alone before retiring to my room for the night. Tuesday morning found me on another long travel day via bus, taxi, and train…to the opposite side of the province: western Gansu province, which was almost like another planet.
The course isn’t just physically demanding. You can’t muscle your way through it. The students learn concepts in the classroom and then head to the pool to apply those techniques to real-life scenarios.

The wildcat physically resembles a domesticated cat in most respects. Although domesticated breeds show a great variety of shapes and colours, wild species are pale yellow to medium-brown with black stripes or spots. The underparts are light grey,and sometimes marked with black spots.
Wildcats range from 45 to 80 centimetres (18 to 31 in) in length, and weigh between 3 and 6 kilograms (6.6 and 13 lb). Shoulder height averages about 35 centimetres (14 in) and tail length is about 30 centimetres (12 in). However, other sources can be misleading and sometimes say that the Scottish Wildcat is twice the size of a domestic cat, but this is not true domestic cats are around the same size.
Wildcats also have the same range of vocalisations as domestic cats, including purring, meowing, hissing, and growling. Except during the mating season, they tend to be quiet animals, vocalising only when close to each other. According to Indian spritual literatures, a human body is a composite one. They divide the body and into seven bodies with differnt functions.
The first body is called sthula-sarira (Sanskrit, from sthula meaning coarse, gross, not refined, heavy, bulky, fat in the sense of bigness, conditioned and differentiated matter + sarira to moulder, waste away). A gross body, impermanent because of its wholly compounded character. The physical body is usually considered as the lowest substance-principle. The physical form is the result of the harmonious co-working on the physical plane of forces and faculties streaming through their astral vehicle or linga-sarira, the pattern or model of the physical body.
The second body is called Linga-Sarira, (Sanskrit, from linga meaning characteristic mark, model, pattern + sarira, from the verbal root sri to moulder, waste away). A pattern or model that is impermanent; the model-body or astral body, only slightly more ethereal than the physical body. It is the astral model around which the physical body is built, and from which the physical body flows or develops as growth proceeds.
The third body is prana (Sanskrit, from pra before + the verbal root an to breathe, to live). In theosophy, the breath of life. This life or prana works on, in, and around us, pulsating unceasingly during the term of physical existence. Prana is "the radiating force or Energy of Atma -- as the Universal Life and the One Self -- its lower or rather (in its effects) more physical, because manifesting, aspect. Prana or Life permeates the whole being of the objective Universe; and is called a 'principle' only because it is an indispensable factor and the deus ex machina of the living man."
The fourth principle is kāma (Sanskrit, from the verbal root kam meaning to desire). Desire; the desire principle is the driving, impelling force. Born from the interaction of atman, buddhi, and manas, kama per se is a colourless force, good or bad according to the way the mind and soul use it. It is the seat of the living electrical impulses, desires, and aspirations, considered in their energetic aspect.
The fifth principle is manas (Sanskrit, from the verbal root man meaning to think). The seat of mentation and egoic consciousness; in humanity Manas is the human person, the reincarnating ego, immortal in essence, enduring in its higher aspects through the entire manvantara. When embodied, manas is dual, gravitating toward buddhi in its higher aspects and in its lower aspects toward kama. The first is intuitive mind, the second the animal, ratiocinative consciousness, the lower mentality and passions of the personality.
The sixth principle or vehicle is Buddhi (Sanskrit, from the verbal root budh to awaken, enlighten, know). The vehicle of pure, universal spirit, hence an inseparable garment or vehicle of atman, which is, in its essence, of the highest plane of akasa or alaya. In man buddhi is the spiritual soul, the faculty of discriminating, the channel through which streams divine inspiration from the atman to the ego, and therefore that faculty which enables us to discern between good and evil: spiritual conscience. The qualities of the buddhic principle when awakened are higher judgment, instant understanding, discrimination, intuition, love that has no bounds, and consequent universal forgiveness.
The seventh is called Atman (Sanskrit). Self; pure consciousness, that cosmic self which is the same in every dweller on this globe and on every one of the planetary or stellar bodies in space. It is the feeling and knowledge of "I am," pure cognition, the abstract idea of self. It does not differ at all throughout the cosmos except in degree of self-recognition. It may also be considered as the First Logos in the human microcosm. During incarnation the lowest aspects of atman take on attributes, because it is linked with buddhi, as the buddhi is linked with manas, as the manas is linked with kama, etc.
So, mental absence is a reality. Thoughts are faster than light! It is the conflict between these bodies which causes grief in life.

The soul migrates with the astral body, or Sukshma-Sarira or Linga-Deha. This astral body is made up of nineteen Tattvas or principles, viz., five organs of action, five organs of knowledge, five Pranas, mind, intellect, Chitta (the subconscious), and Ahankara or egoism.
Go-Go for a wild ride with the action girls! Russ Meyer, the king of exploitation, directs this lurid thrill-ride starring Tura Satana, Haji, and Lori Williams as a trio of dancers who turn to murder and mayhem on a road trip from hell. Varla is well-endowed, beautiful, physically powerful, savvy and conniving. She lives for kicks, but she's also got a serious mad on for the world, and anyone who crosses her finds out the hard way. Her job as a go-go dancer, supplemented by a part time career in petty crime has afforded her a sleek and fast sports car, which she enjoys riding in the desert with her fellow dancers. One of them, Rosie, has a crush on Varla, which she happily encourages, even if Varla is really more interested in the control it gives her over Rosie than in Rosie herself. The other dancer, Billie, is a little harder for Varla to manage, but Billie isn't bright enough to outmaneuver Varla.
When the little gang run into a square drag racer, he winds up getting into a fight with Varla, losing of course. Varla makes sure he never talks back again, then kidnaps his girlfriend and makes a run for it. BIllie and Rosie tag along, and they soon become involved in intrigue with an old letch in the desert rumored to have a stash of cash hidden away somewhere. When Varla starts to lose control of the situation, things (again) become violent, leading to a revved-up climax! Three strippers seeking thrills encounter a young couple in the desert. After dispatching the boyfriend, they take the girl hostage and begin scheming on a crippled old man living with his two sons in the desert, reputedly hiding a tidy sum of cash. They become houseguests of the old man and try and seduce the sons in an attempt to locate the money, not realizing that the old man has a few sinister intentions of his own.

Exploitation maven Russ Meyer created a cult classic with this turbo-charged action film. Three curvaceous go-go dancers in a cool sports car go on a desert crime spree, led by Varla (the amazing Tura Satana), a busty, nasty woman dressed entirely in black. Varla's lesbian moll, Rosie (Haji) -- who has an extremely overwrought accent -- and reluctant bimbo Billie (Lori Williams) are along for the ride. When they meet a naïve young couple, Tommy and Linda (Ray Barlow and Sue Bernard), Varla challenges the man to a race then kills him by breaking his back. They take Linda hostage and drive to a house owned by a crippled old lecher (Stuart Lancaster) and his muscular but retarded son, Vegetable (Dennis Busch). Varla discovers that the old man has money hidden on the property, so the girls try to find it. Meanwhile, Vegetable's perverted father tries to trick him into assaulting one of the girls as he watches, but his other son (Paul Trinka) finally shows up to save the day. A great deal of bloodshed, campy catfighting, and funny dialogue fills the bulk of this fast-paced comic book of a movie.

Haji was a Cando-American actress renowned for starring in Russ Meyer's sexploitation classic Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965), in which she made her theatrical film debut. Barbarella Catton was born in Quebec City, Quebec on January 24, 1946, and at the age of 14, began dancing topless. The renamed Haji caught the eye of cinema's "King Leer" while performing as an exotic dancer.
He also cast her as one of three go-go dancers who turn into avenging furies in "Pussycat", which was her theatrical film debut as it was released before Motor Psycho (1965). She also appeared in Meyer's potboiler Good Morning... and Goodbye! (1967), his big budget Hollywood sextravaganza Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), and his cartoonish amalgamation of sex and violence, Supervixens (1975).
Haji died on August 10, 2013 at the age of 67.

Haji, a voluptuous actress who played one of three homicidal go-go dancers in Russ Meyer’s 1965 cult film “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!,” died on Aug. 9 in Southern California. She was 67.
Her death was confirmed by the dancer and actress Kitten Natividad, a friend, who said she did not know the cause. She said Haji had high blood pressure and heart problems in recent years and was taken to a hospital after falling ill at a restaurant in Newport Beach.Haji, a brunette of Filipino and British descent, met Meyer, the celebrated B-movie director, in the mid-1960s while she worked in a strip club in California. He cast her as the lead in his biker movie “Motorpsycho” (1965) even though she had no acting experience.Later that year Haji appeared in “Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!,” the tale of three dancers who beat a young man to death, kidnap his girlfriend and flee into the desert. She played the lesbian paramour of the lead character, Varla, played by Tura Satana. The film has acquired a devoted following and has been embraced by the filmmakers John Waters and Quentin Tarantino and even some feminists, including the film critic B. Ruby Rich, who praised it in The Village Voice as a “female fantasy.”“You just didn’t see women taking over and beating up men in those days,” Haji said in an interview posted on Russ Meyer’s Ultravixens, a Web site devoted to Meyer, who died in 2004, and his films. “Russ did something no one else had the imagination to do. And he was smart to use three bodied-up women, so whether the picture’s good or not, you still sort of stare at it.”Haji played a scantily clad bartender in Meyer’s “Supervixens” in 1975 and appeared in “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls,” the story of an all-woman rock band’s descent into debauchery. It was the first of Meyer’s films produced by a mainstream studio. She also acted in John Cassavetes’s gritty drama “The Killing of a Chinese Bookie” in 1976.
Haji was born in Quebec on Jan. 24, 1946. Ms. Natividad said that Haji’s last name at birth was Catton, and that she thought her given name was Cerlette. (The name Haji, she said, was a nickname given to her by an uncle.) Haji left school before finishing the sixth grade and began stripping at 14. She had a daughter, also named Cerlette, at 15. She lived in Oxnard, Calif. Her survivors include her daughter and a granddaughter. Haji’s last screen role was in the 2003 comedy “Killer Drag Queens on Dope.”

Dakkhina Bahadur, 30, is physically and visually impaired, who lives with her husband and two children at Baraikhali in Dacope upazila in Khulna. Cyclone Amphan destroyed her stock of “Chaar”, or catching equipment for crabs made from bamboo. Her business of selling Chaar was steady before the Covid-19 pandemic, but that came to a halt soon after. She received cash support from UN Women as a victim of Cyclone Amphan as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, which she used to purchase raw materials for making new batches of Chaar. This helped her to resume selling the item again. Business has not been brisk compared to the pre-pandemic days six months ago, but at least now she has begun again.

Prior to leaving for the mission, missionaries must prepare physically and spiritually. Because the work is so demanding, missionaries entering the mission field need to be healthy. I don't know if I've grown much physically since I started my 365 (still unfortunately short) but I've grown a lot as a person...
My 365 was one of the most life-changing things I've embarked on. It and my self-determination were responsible for so much growth. I didn't finish it, obviously, but I accomplished what I wanted to in the time that I did it for.
In that way, I succeeded.
As well, I've jump-started my business as a photographer, started showing in multiple places, and have started making the work that I've been wanting to...
I've begun a new busienss (which you'll hear lots about in the coming months), started dating a wonderful girl (whom you'll see lots more pictures of), and become addicted to clothes.
I can proudly say that I'm a person who's created a lot of opportunites for their self.
This last year has been good for me, and I can't wait to see what this new year is like.

These pictures from Gansu province were taken during a nine-day trip in May 2015. Gansu is a province at the geographical heart of China. Its capital, Lanzhou, is pretty close to the center of the country as can be from what I can tell by looking at maps.
Gansu, though, is most certainly considered west China by the Chinese. Physically, the province reminds me of a small dumbbell sitting on an angle. There’s a southern (southeastern) section that is slightly large and has a high elevation (often between 2,000-3,000 meters) with a higher concentration of Muslims and Tibetans than most other areas of China. When you get closer to Xiahe, where Labrang Monastery is located, road signs are both in Tibetan and Mandarin. The LP 2011 had listed three places of interest in southern Gansu: Milarepa Palace in Hezuo, Labrang Monstery in Xiahe (listed as one of the 30 “Must Dos” in China), and Langmusi down on the Sichuan border. I had originally intended to visit all three places, but ended up dropping Langmusi – the Alpine village – and spending an extra day out west.
So all told in the south, I spent a few overcast hours in Hezuo at Milarepa Palace (as quirky as I recall LP saying it is, but also something I could have done without) before spending two nights at the Overseas Tibetan Hotel about 100 meters outside the eastern gate of Labrang Monastery in Xiahe. Xiahe was mesmerizing to me. It reminded me a little of some western US towns: one wide, main street that runs the length of town and most of the buildings are two- or three-story establishments.
Xiahe is around 3,300 meters in elevation, so altitude sickness is mentioned a few times, though I never experienced any type of nausea. I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel (not extravagant, but nice and comfortable beds), the owner (Lohsang Amso – a good man – who can also arrange bike rental, local and regional travel, etc.) and the good folks a few doors down at the Snowy Mountain Cafe – which seems to only be open in the evening – but where you can eat yak…which I did. One night, I had Nepalese yak curry (Nepalese chicken curry the other night). Other than that, I was amazed at how close (and countless) the stars in the night sky seemed to be, but given the altitude and lack of surface light, it wasn’t unexpected…just amazing.
Having spent the previous day on a morning flight from Chengdu to Lanzhou (one provincial capital to another), an hour bus ride from Lanzhou Airport downtown, another 45 minute taxi ride across town (through horrendous traffic), a 4 hour bus ride from Lanzhou down to southern Gansu that ended in Hezuo, an hour or two at Milarepa Palace in Hezuo, then finally another 1-2 hour bus from Hezuo to Xiahe, I finally found myself plopping down on my bed at the Overseas Tibetan…sometime in early evening.
Though things didn’t go exactly as planned, they were close enough and I really had no complaints. My biggest surprise was the number of mosques I saw en route to Xiahe. (I hadn’t realized that the Muslim population in this particular region was quite so large.)
Upon waking the following morning – it was a Monday, I recall – I made the incredibly short walk to the Labrang Monastery. Labrang Monastery is a fascinating place. It was founded in 1709 by Ngagong Tsunde (first generation of the third in line behind the Dalai and Panchen Lamas). It is one of the six major monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat sect) order of Tibetan Buddhism. Three of the other six are near Lhasa, one near Shigatse, and the other near Xining (Qinghai province).
This is the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple (if I remember reading correctly) outside Tibet. To walk the entire kora (circumference of the temple with prayer wheels) is over a 3 km endeavor, which I undertook on that Monday morning.
It was a pleasant walk, rife with photographic opportunities – people don’t mind having their pictures taken, though the Tibetan monks…not so much. They had to give their permission, and usually didn’t want to, which was fine by me. Around the back (north) side of the monastery, there’s an outer kora trail up the mountain that would give a nice view, but I was frankly too lazy to take it (and didn’t find it, anyway).
And the people. Photographing people here (monks or otherwise) is just…a treasure trove waiting to happen. Regarding the monks living here, there apparently used to be about four thousand, but limits have been set to around 1,800 now. (All I’ll say is, like most places in China, the Cultural Revolution was none too kind...)
After walking the kora, I hung out at Everest Cafe (Lohsang’s restaurant at the Overseas Tibetan) for a no frills breakfast, then spent the remainder of the morning with a tour of the interior of the temple and wandering around the grounds. The monastery has a few different temples, monastic colleges, living residences…it’s really quite a large compound.
The day had started sunny, but by sundown was turning pretty cloudy, so no great sunset shots to be had here, and it was getting a bit chilly in the evening at that altitude, so as soon as it was evident there wouldn’t be any more shooting, I went on over to Snowy Mountain for a relaxing dinner alone before retiring to my room for the night. Tuesday morning found me on another long travel day via bus, taxi, and train…to the opposite side of the province: western Gansu province, which was almost like another planet.

This past week was on that was both physically and emotionally draining. You see my dad's late kid brother's wife passed on last Friday evening and then Saturday my dad's kid sister's husband passed on. Saying goodbye to two people at the same cemetery within a span of 48 hours. Travelling to our Capital City only to come home after each service hoping that the good weather would prevail making travelling the roads bearable.
On Wednesday, my cousin's husband read a poem at his father-in-laws service about "the dash". If you get a chance to google it do so. It makes one ponder.
Then, on Friday we celebrated the life of a wonderful woman. Her youngest son spoke of her life and later smiled and said to me "she would have hated this". How true.
Out of both celebrations of the lives we so cherished that have now passed on to another plane I realized that everyone's story matters.
I thought how sad that these two people could not hear the words that were being spoken, how their lives had touched so many and the stories that we recalled. It made me think at the end of our life our story matters. It matters to those you leave behind, those who knew you and those who will never know you. Every generation tells stories of lives of loved ones that have since passed on. It's how they always stay within the hearts and minds of those they left behind.
My cousins and I literally all grew up together. My dad's family was very close - we spent holidays together at my grandparents tiny house ... all five of their children and their children...my great grandmother and great aunt and numerous aunts and uncles and second cousins. It was always a house full of laughter and love.
As the years went by my grandparents passed on and we as cousins all grew up and moved away and started lives of our that tradition seemed to disappear - at least for me it did. It always makes me sad because we were once so close. Having both my parents have passed on and being an only child those family ties and get togethers which, once were times that we used to celebrate happy times have now become times we now seem to only get together to celebrate the life of one of our family who have passed on. We have the odd reunion, the odd wedding but mostly those days that I cherished so long ago have to passed on and not because we wanted them to but because our lives as adults changed, families of our own and life in general have taken different paths.
When did the family structure of those get together's change? My dad when he was alive always said it was when his father passed on. I don't know if I believed that is true but somehow I think now that perhaps he was right. The quiet man who we all loved, idolized and cherished seemed to be the glue that bound us a family.
My youngest cousin was laughing saying I was probably scoping out a spot to get good photos the day of the first service when someone inquired where I was. Little did he know at the time but I had gone ahead to take a photo of my grandfather and grandmother's resting place - it made me feel that those days were still here, still apart of who we were and who we became because of these two wonderful people.
I took this photo of a little angel statue at the grave at the next row. It somehow made me feel more at peace more in touch with my younger self and the life I grew up with. I didn't know the person whose resting place this little angel was overseeing but it didn't matter. What mattered was as I stood there alone with my daughter close by that it made me think "at the end of your life your story matters" no matter who you are.
So, little cousin I told another a fib I took one extra photo that day and didn't post till now.
this is what Jade looked like, the first time she had her heart broken by Jay...he cheated on her, and got a grl pregnant...it took her a while to forgive him...but then, she did turn up pregnant herself, so, that made her decision even easier, harder, but easier. She doesnt know if she can fully trust him yet, but, she is getting there...an they are still gonna have hot crazy sex too...that'll never go away. I think i fell because i thought i was strong enough. Heh, i guess pride really does come before the fall i was soo sure i was rooted enough in my faith & beliefs that I wouldn't go back to wanting the things the world has to offer. No, im not drinking or druggin or any of that, just the subtle changes i've realized. My views of whats right & wrong, rather than being black & white being black grey or white. where as before when me & Him were like biffles, i was a frickin Rock; not easily moved or phased.

3.)___Ehh, im so envious of people who are so real & content all the time, and i mean genuinely. Those that they're so oblivious to the crap in the world that they mainly focus on the gold. It's beautiful. Like my mother, i dont know how she does it... she has been through and seen so much and at the end of the day, she puts herself last. She never complains, yet she makes corny jokes, attempts at making conversation with me on short trips to the grocery store, wants to hug & cuddle with me, & it annoys me. I feel like such a horrible and selfish person that it annoys me... i should appreciate it, take it and cherish it while i can, thank God for her every second of the day, yet i get selfish at those times and grumble, or i just want to be alone. Ive been taking more time to enjoy her now, and its actually genuine, whereas before i just felt bad. But the fact that she genuinely cares so much for others withought any grunts or groans amazes me. I aspire to be like such, and i really want to work on it, the fact that ive written the letter/word "i" so many times in this blog is quite vexatious. but back to the point, im craving this genuine joy and love she has.

We fall short, i'm not perfect, never will be, and i will never see myself as better or above any other person, but i am striving to be better and to please Him. when you look at me, do you see someone you admire or someone who proves your point? salt and light or just another hypocrite/judgemental "Christian"? i apologize for everyone who calls themselves christians and dont live or walk like one. but i do have to say, the term brings along a tall pedastool of which the world places us on, its not possible ladys and gents, we're human beings, we'll fall just as hard if we do sit or stand on one. the only diference is that we have acknowledged we fall short, and ask to be forgiven. i know im not gonna be better on my own, yea right... i suck, . i'll try to be better for Him and for you. i hope i wouldn't have just been some individual who took up space during your lifetime.

Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas’ oldest continually operating and most famous dance hall. By design, not much has physically changed since the Hall was first built. The 6,000 square foot dance hall with a high pitched tin roof still has the original layout with side flaps for open air dancing, a bar in the front, a small lighted stage in the back and a huge outdoor garden. handicapped Kalash child appeal for free treatment of her son. According to
detail Sadiq Ali 6 whose father Shahdulla died a few years back is disable for
the last four years His mother Saira Bibi told this scribe that her son Sadiq
Ali was weak after one year of his birth. She took him to Chitral hospital but
doctors could not diagnosed his illness (disease) she added. She continue his
treatment but suddenly her husband died and now being a poor widow she can,t
continue treatment of his youngest son Sadiq Ali. She said that a wheel chair
was also donated by a foreigner tourist but she expressed her great sorrow that
she was not supported by Government of Pakistan or any Muslim. She said that
she is hardworking and gaining livelihood for her entire family and also
continue treatment of her son. She said that when Sadiq Ali take his treatment
he remain happy but when his medicines finished and I cannot purchase it more
due to my extreme poverty so Sadiq Ali became upset and feel un easy. She
appeal prime Minister of Pakistan as well as philanthropists of the world including Pakistan to help her to

Dakkhina Bahadur, 30, is physically and visually impaired, who lives with her husband and two children at Baraikhali in Dacope upazila in Khulna. Cyclone Amphan destroyed her stock of “Chaar”, or catching equipment for crabs made from bamboo. Her business of selling Chaar was steady before the Covid-19 pandemic, but that came to a halt soon after. She received cash support from UN Women as a victim of Cyclone Amphan as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, which she used to purchase raw materials for making new batches of Chaar. This helped her to resume selling the item again. Business has not been brisk compared to the pre-pandemic days six months ago, but at least now she has begun again.

Diane Arbus wears the mantle of "Queen of the Bizarre." The former fashion photographer turned her two and a quarter Rolleiflex camera to the physically and mentally challenged; including dwarfs, giants and circus performers, among others.
She befriended many of them, so she really was not an exploiter of the abnormal. Having serious mental concerns herself, she committed suicide in 1971, which immediately increased the value of her prints.
As when a cynic proclaimed, at Elvis Presley's death in 1977, that it was a good career move, the same could be said of Arbus. And it could be argued that Elvis' death, in turn, was a slow suicide over years of flagrant drug abuse.
This Casa Grande, Arizona Halloween night celebration of the Dr. Suess characters and "Predator," echoes Arbus. The black youth on the edge of the frame echoes the bag lady in Weegee's "The Critic."

Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas’ oldest continually operating and most famous dance hall. By design, not much has physically changed since the Hall was first built. The 6,000 square foot dance hall with a high pitched tin roof still has the original layout with side flaps for open air dancing, a bar in the front, a small lighted stage in the back and a huge outdoor garden. Advertisement signs from the 1930s and 40s still hang in the old hall and around the stage.
In the 1800s, Gruene Hall held weekly dances and played host to everything from traveling salesmen to high school graduations to badger fights. Today, the Hall has continued to be a center for the Gruene and Central Texas social and entertainment scene, and the activities are just as varied. In any given week, locals hold court in the front bar after work talking over their day’s activities, a friend’s passing, the weather or the state of the economy. Possibly at the same time, the filming of a movie or commercial or preparation for a festival, fundraiser or a major corporation’s private party may be taking place in the main hall or beer garden.
Under the current ownership, Gruene Hall has become internationally recognized as a destination tourist attraction and major music venue for up-and-coming as well as established artists. Since 1975, the Hall has played host to hundreds of celebrities whose pictures adorn the walls. The owner’s focus on booking singer-songwriters and artists who play original material has provided a fertile proving ground for many former “new talents” such as George Strait, Hal Ketchum, and Lyle Lovett.
Gruene Hall has also become a place where working songwriters, such as John Hiatt or Rodney Crowell, Kevin Welch or Jim Lauderdale, can try out new material or just take a breather between tour dates; where music icons such as Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Merle Haggard or Kris Kristofferson can play in a more intimate venue; where former “up and comers” such as Garth Brooks, Chris Isaak or the Dixie Chicks can extend their tour; and where big names such as Willie Nelson and Aaron Neville have chosen to perform.
Through the years, the big winners have always been Gruene Hall’s patrons. A person watching a show never knows if the artist they see at the Hall today will be a star tomorrow, but they can know that the music they hear will always be top notch.

We also visited Our Lady of Vallarpadam today. This was one of the men begging just outside the church. Begging is technically outlawed in India, but you will often see people - particularly those who are physically disabled - begging for money. In situations involving physical disability, this is often the only means of sustaining oneself that these particular individuals have.

Dakkhina Bahadur, 30, is physically and visually impaired, who lives with her husband and two children at Baraikhali in Dacope upazila in Khulna. Cyclone Amphan destroyed her stock of “Chaar”, or catching equipment for crabs made from bamboo. Her business of selling Chaar was steady before the Covid-19 pandemic, but that came to a halt soon after. She received cash support from UN Women as a victim of Cyclone Amphan as well as the Covid-19 pandemic, which she used to purchase raw materials for making new batches of Chaar. This helped her to resume selling the item again. Business has not been brisk compared to the pre-pandemic days six months ago, but at least now she has begun again.

The second Fate Figma that I recently acquired through a fellow collector was none other than the 3rd Ascension Lily Saber, which according to what I'm reading was a 2017 Wonder Fest exclusive.
Lily Saber is a character that was introduced in the Fate/Unlimited Codes game/visual novel as an alternate version of the Artoria Pendragon Saber in Fate/Stay Night, and physically resembles her look in a time when she is training to become the greatest hero that Britain has ever known, and is armed with Caliburn rather than Excalibur, which she obtains after becoming King.
Her design reflects this as she appears to be more carefree in terms of body language, colours, and the bow on the back of her head.
The original Figma was released way back in the day when the PSP game came out (again, as a Collectors Edition thing), and the 2.0 came out a few years ago as an entry into the Fate/Grand Order lineup. This particular version is a Third Ascension, which according to my research is a form change once you reach certain milestones in the game.
Unlike the previous two releases, this iteration of Lily Saber is very much underarmoured. In fact.. she has no armour whatsoever, and wears what I would describe as a sundress in the same motiff as the trademark Lily Saber outfit. Naturally she's no long as bulky looking due to lack of armour, but also to me her thighs seem a bit slimmer though that could be due to the black stockings.
The lack of lace leggings was also somewhat disappointing, but that is an aesthetics thing rather than a design flaw.
Her price tag, for 2017, wasn't horrifying, coming in at slightly above 5,000 Yen. However, the number of accessories kind of reflected this, kind of like how the low price tag on the entry level Goku Figuarts did.
You get the figure, only two face plates (smiling, maniacally laughing), five additional hands, Calibur with sheathe, and a stand. The face plates, much to my delight, are interchangeable with the 2.0 Lily Saber Figma. The hair looks ALMOST the same, but is a slightly different yellow and of course, the Ahoge on the top of her head is in a slightly different direction.
While the pack-ins don't exactly blow my mind, at least it seems some thought went into the design of the figure. As expected, the points of articulsation themselves are pretty typical - ankles, single jointed knees, hips with thigh rotation, waist, mid torso, shoulders with some collapse and bicep swivel, single jointed elbows, wrists, and neck.
You also get points of articulation on her pony tail and more importantly, her skirt, which allows for use of the range of motion provided for the lower body. Why they never segmented the skirt for Nero Claudius 2.0 or a laundry list of other figures will forever remain a mystery to me.
Figma rarely disappoint from a paint perspective, and Lily Saber here is a statistic as well. It shouldn't be surprising, giving how outfits with a higher degree of complexity get pulled off generally without a hitch, with the exception of course of some slightly sketch masking work on the black strips. Flesh colour parts are well painted, and decals are sharply produced and accurately applied. As with the other Artoria based Sabers, the included Caliburn and scabbard are fantastic. The use of glossy black to differentiate her Pumps from her leggings is also a nice touch.
Build quality is actually quite remarkable, at least for this particular sample. The usual suspects are here, namely well made parts, great QC with regards to gaps and other relevant tolerances, and limbs that are the same length. What is truly interesting is how strong the joints are on this figure. All joints function perfectly, but the tolerances are so perfect that Lily Saber can actually pick up by another figure of similar weight by the neck, no supports or anything.
It's not a chokeslam or anything, but she's not The Hulk either.
Overall Lily Saber is a well designed and well made Figma that can actually pose and has superhuman strength, apparently. If anything, one can lament the lack of accessories, but, again, the price tag pretty much indicated that this would be the case.
At roughly the same price, I have to say that Lily Saber 3rd Ascension beats out Saber: Dress version in terms of being a good action figure, though naturally you'd just take it if your goal was to have a long haired, Bamboo sword carrying Fate waifu.
That's all the Fate goodies I have for now... with the world slowly reopening, hopefully the reaches of the Earth will have some interesting goodies for me after this lengthy hunting hiatus.
Ah Professional Wrestling.. or as someone once called it, "Male Soap Opera". Full of all sorts of plots, storylines, and drama. While there are highs and lows with regards to the motivation of the players, the one thing that is consistent is the fact it is a very physically demanding occupation.
I don't watch any of it these days, but I was a bit more active during what is known as the "Attitude Era", which took place during the 2000s. This wonderful time made many prominent new stars, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, as well as continued the development of preexisting players like The Undertaker and of course, master of The Pedigree - Triple H, Hunter Hearst Hemsley, The Cerebral Assassin, The Game, The King of Kings... whatever you like to call him.
Picked him up on a whim cause he was cheap and more importantly, I had visions of Woody getting slammed and was curious how well articulated the wrestling bodies were.
My best guess is that this is based on a beefier standard body, and not the Tamashii Nations "Fighting Body" that the Street Fighter figures are based on.
Content wise, the set does alright. You get the figure, three total expressions (neutral, yelling, smiling), three sets of hands (closed fists, weapon grabbing fists, opening and closing fists), sledgehammer, and bottle of water. The only thing that would have been nice to add would have been a water spay effect.
Triple H certainly looks the part.. well mostly. The body is never going to be 100% accurate, but it does get his musculature and overall silhouette pretty accurately, with a somewhat undersized chest and honestly, not enough body hair for Attitude era Triple H.
The hair on his head, much like with Infinity War Widow, is gold instead of blonde, and is decently detailed for a figure of this size. Faces are hit and miss - the neutral face is fairly well done. They got expression, and the general shape of Triple H's brow, nose, and eyes. In the right light, you get a really good photo of him.
The yelling and laughing faces are... serviceable. In the right light, they're terrible, and you can be sure I had some fun with that.
Articulation isn't as refined as I'd like for a wrestling figure. I mean sure, the main points of articulation are there - ankles, double jointed knee, hips with thigh swivel, mid torso, shoulders with chest collapse, double jointed elbows with elbow twist, wrists, neck, and head. The hair, much like other figures with hair that drapes down close to the body, affects the ability of the figure to turn its head.
Ankles can rotate a full 360 degrees so you can replicate Kurt Angle breaking it, I suppose.
The chest collapse allows for pretty good replication of various holds, but the posing of the upper body is somewhat hampered by the elbows not allowing as deep a bend as I'd like.
While the hips pull down to allow for greater range of motion, the thighs are designed such in a full seated position they do no come together, which can make posing posing drivers or other seated slams a bit challenging.
Similar to the elbows, the knees could have used a bit more range of motion, but to do that you'd probably have to cut into the thigh and mess with silhouette.
From a paint perspective, he's deceptively simple looking. While not as vibrant as the other figures I've looked at. there's actually quite a bit of paint on the figure. For starters, the flesh coloured parts are almost all painted, with some dark airbrushing to emphasize muscles. It's the lack of colours that makes things hard to see. Overall, you get smooth paint applications, with average-at-best masking, especially given how simple the actual masking spots are. The digital face painting itself seems to be reasonably sharp, with the sculpt itself being what throws things off.
Build quality is what you expect - solid across the board. No issues with joint strength, limbs are the right length, parts hold together well, and no alignment issues. The finish isn't quite a strong as a Figma in terms of hiding seam lines, but again, Fiiguarts rarely are.
