“湖に沈む夕日を その夕焼けに照らされる湖面を”
私がそんな日本語を探すようになったのは
数年前から大きな湖のそばで暮らし始め
朝と夕と気にかけて湖を撮っていた故の
自然な流れだったようにも思う。
しばらく考えてみて 探してもみたのだが
どうやらまだその単語は無いようだったので
とりあえず作ってみよう。と 提案してみた。
「音の印象なら や・ゆ・よ とか 平仮名の最後の方ですよね」
『出来れば２文字くらいで…んー…３文字かな…』
影が伸びる夕暮れの湖岸道路を歩きながら
景色と心の中に
その名前 を探して帰った。

［名］太陽の沈む頃、太陽が湖を焼くように湖面が西側から赤く染まっていくこと。また、その現象。「夕焼け小焼け」はこの語を使って「夕焼け湖焼け」と表することもある。
