Macro Mondays theme: Keychain (image is cropped to fit within the 3" limit)
My daughter picked up this miniature Eiffel Tower keychain while on her travels around Europe in the Fall of 2022. She had spent a semester studying abroad and stayed in Cologne, Germany. She admits that Paris was her most favourite place to visit among all of the places she travelled to.
Today I thought I'd get one more photo in before I have to take my Christmas tree down. Everything is finally put away now till next year.
Thanks for your visit! I hope you have a great day! HMM!
So here I am on my 50th picture-a-day in a row. Thanks to everyone that has been reading my blog. Even if you just pass by every once in a while, I’m humbled that people take time to look. I appreciate the comments, both in person and here and on Facebook and Myspace. Next milestone is my 100th photo. Gotta do something special. A nude protest or something crazy like that. OK maybe not.
Anyway, here are the lyrics to “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson according to my son:
I’m starving with the man in the mirror. I’m asking him for change away. If you wanna make a bet, I betcha place, take a look at you self and make a CHAAAAANGE!
My Stanley hammer, a bit worn, but still does the job.
HMM. ;)
Zoom in to see the lovely details... ;)
Anyone paying close attention will notice that I missed a 365 yesterday. My bad! I was stressed out all day, and then once the stress ended, I was pleasantly otherwise distracted. Three minutes after midnight, I realized I hadn't taken a photo. Oh well.
20130717_1261_1D3-400 Nadi Bay Sunet 3 (Day 198/365) [Explored]
The last photo I will upload of yesterday's stunning sunset at Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi, Fiji. The first time I have had to increase my ISO for a direct sun shot. In sequence this is in between shots 2 and 4 posted yesterday.

There is a bit of a back story to this image.
My wife and I had driven from her family home near Suva to Nadi via the Kings Road (up the east and north coast of Viti Levu) calling in at some of her relatives on the way. We finally arrived at Nadi Bay Resort Hotel about 20 minutes before sunset, quickly checked in and carted our bags to our room. I said to my wife I will just shoot down the road (Wailoaloa Road) to the beach to see the sunset arriving about three or four minutes before this shot was taken. Just in time!

This photo marks 10 years of photo-a-day. I haven't been uploading to flickr recently, but I've still been shooting everyday. I'm also trying to write a perl script to automate the uploading of my photos. This photo did upload using my script, but I'm still working on getting the right tags, albums and comments added. Right now that's manual.
On my way to the train station after work I stumbled across this kids' chalk graffiti on the sidewalk. It says "Make a line and sing a song"
I liked it, it's cute … too emo for you? I don't care. Getting softer comes with the age …
Photo-a-day Lent Calendar for A Hobbling A Day. Homemade cafe mocha.
Marai Daehne and I talked about doing a Lent Calendar after last December's Advent Calendar.
Yes, it is Avery's birthday today! So happy to spend the day with her doing all of her favorite things...toysrus, lunch at Logan's (she loves the peanuts), icee's at Target...Chuck-E-Cheese for dinner tonight. Gonna keep this short so I dont get teary-eyed. A Candyland theme party is planned for this Saturday....more fun to come!
Photo a day- Day 1
Wearing a purple sun dress on a grey and rainy Friday. Blurgh. Brave the rain for an appointment, then a meeting and then a run to the hotel.
Friday, 3 February 2012.
New year's day walk from home to Perranporth with new camera past the giant wind turbine on the hill.

Something I made for my mom and dad. It's a candy with a little heartshaped personal note on the back.
