The name Théâtre de la Renaissance has been used successively for three distinct Parisian theatre companies. The first two companies, which were short-lived enterprises in the 19th century, used the Salle Ventadour, now an office building on the Rue Méhul in the 2nd arrondissement.

The current company was founded in 1873, and its much smaller theatre (pictured) was built that same year next to the Porte Saint-Martin at 20 boulevard Saint-Martin, in the 10th arrondissement. Besides performances of musical theatre, Feydeau's farces were first produced in this theatre, and plays by Victorien Sardou. Among the actors who triumphed there were Sarah Bernhardt, Eleonora Duse, and Raimu, later Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri.

The unusually shaped bloom of this plant is best described as “bizarre” or “weird”! A bright red, flattened fan shape is topped by a series of convoluted ridges to form a flower-head composed of hundreds of tiny individual flowers. The bloom is approximately 13 centimetres high, and 12 centimetres wide at the top. The flattened triangular base is about 2 centimetres thick.

Celosias are members of the amaranth family (Amaranthaceae). The particular cut-flower photographed for this article is a cultivar of wild Celosia argenta called “cristata”. Wild celosias are native to the equatorial tropics of Africa, Asia, and South America. The common name for the plant comes from the flower-head’s resemblance to a rooster’s comb. Alternative common names are “feathered amaranth”, “wool-flower”, and “red fox”.

In the closer view below, the small individual flowers growing in the triangular base are just visible. The flowers at the bloom’s base are lighter coloured than those positioned higher up. 142

Moulin Rouge (French pronunciation: [mu.lɛ̃ ʁuʒ], French for "Red Mill") is a cabaret in Paris, France.

The original house, which burned down in 1915, was co-founded in 1889 by Charles Zidler and Joseph Oller, who also owned the Paris Olympia. Close to Montmartre in the Paris district of Pigalle on Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement, it is marked by the red windmill on its roof. The closest métro station is Blanche.

Moulin Rouge is best known as the spiritual birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the can-can dance revue evolved into a form of entertainment of its own and led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe. Today, the Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction, offering musical dance entertainment for visitors from around the world. The club's decor still contains much of the romance of fin de siècle France.

This offers a similar but slightly different view from it’s more famous cousin, Tunnel View. Valley View offers views of El Capitan and Bridalveil Falls in the classic juxtaposition but Half Dome is not visible from this vantage point. However, instead of Half Dome, the lovely and serene Merced River graces the foreground between these two icons providing some beautiful texture to otherwise cold granite vistas. The view is particularly nice in fall when the grasses in the Merced River change color, in winter when the meadows are draped in snow, and early spring when Bridalveil Fall is at it’s peak.

The main fork of the Merced River is a great place for swimming, hiking, fishing, rafting, gold-panning, camping and general recreation during the summer months. It’s low elevation also makes it a great place for a day hike in the winter.

There is day use and picnicking along Highway 140 and Briceburg, with overnight camping or fires only at designated campsites.

Small scale and contemporary works are also staged in the 500-seat Amphitheatre under the Opéra Bastille.

The Belém Tower (Portuguese: Torre de Belém, pronounced [ˈtoʁ(ɨ) dɨ bɨˈlɐ̃ȷ̃]) or the Tower of St Vincent is a fortified tower located in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery) because of the significant role it played in the Portuguese maritime discoveries of the era of the Age of Discoveries. The tower was commissioned by King John II to be part of a defence system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.

The tower was built in the early 16th century and is a prominent example of the Portuguese Manueline style, but it also incorporates hints of other architectural styles. The structure was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and a 30-metre (98.4 ft), four-storey tower. It has incorrectly been stated that the tower was built in the middle of the Tagus and now sits near the shore because the river was redirected after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. In fact, the tower was built on a small island in the Tagus River near the Lisbon shore.
