This is the canal that runs next to the Philosopher's Walk in Kyoto.

This sea otter was floating by itself way out in Resurrection Bay out from Seward

School for everybody. I do.

Kyoto.

 

Even before the blossoms come out to play the path is lovely. And I dare say a lot more fit for philosophising than with the blossomviewing crowds..

Anyway, did I do any philosophising here you ask? No. I ate some strawberries and kinkans and went kimonohunting in a dusty antiqueshop.

Philosopher’s Wood was originally laid out in the late 17th century as a sequence of formal ponds and lakes to the west of the original Hall.

This path was called the Philosopher's Path . . . it led to the Silver Temple. We never made it.
