For a long while I had been stuck with a partially fried motherboard that had somehow taken heat damage near the VRM at some point, without the VRM itself being affected.
It was however losing more and more USB ports over time, with them becoming non-functional and showing up as "over-current state" during boot.
Most of the USB ports were dead by now and I was getting worried about damage potentially being done to devices plugged into the leftover ones.
Thanks to a friend I was finally able to replace the motherboard with a new one now though and I now also have my first ever AIO cooler, which also has active VRM cooling, because I'll be a bit paranoid about that area of the board from now on.
I usually didn't care for RGB lighting in the past, but this AIO really is pretty cool (pun intended.)
For the motherboard replacement I've intentionally picked out one that didn't have obnoxious "gamer" designs printed on it, using colors that would have clashed with chosen lighting color.
I've used OpenRGB to set the lights to a lime green, as that's one of my favorite colors.
The way the camera captured it, it does have more of a Borg vibe to it though.

Having replaced my 8 year old rig named SHODAN with a new build named Neuromancer last March, I knew I wanted to step down from a triple monitor setup back to a dual monitor setup since most modern games are not fully supporting triple monitor gaming, but step up in size, resolution, and refresh rate, thus I got 2 Gamdias Atlas DHD323C 31.5", 1440p, 144Hz, with Freesync/GSync.
I also decided to get more case fans and an all in one watecooler for my Ryzen 7 3700x.
I then repurposed my 4.3" TFT display that I use for sim racing to become a system monitor inside the case when I am not sim racing.

I have become quite a fan of the PC experience as of late. I initially thought it would be difficult to work on or build a PC but time (and hours of reading, talking to PC-oriented friends and watching YouTube videos) has made it more easy and manageable. Moving into a place with my girlfriend has given me the opportunity to have a space to myself to do with whatever I wish. This is the first rig I ever built. It was completed September 23rd 2020. It has been a workhorse for nearly the past two years. Unfortunately, due to the RAM height, I had to reverse mount my CPU cooling fan. It pulls air directly threw the heatsink. Not the most ideal cooling configuration, but thermally it works great. This marks PC one of six! I wish i had taken these shots with my 105mm, but I only had the 24-50mm kit lens at the time. This was shortly after I bought the Nikon Z5 kit
