A lovely rose that grows in the front garden.

•The birthplace of the cultivated Rose was probably Northern Persia, on the Caspian, or Faristan on the Gulf of Persia.

•Historically, the oldest Rose fossils have been found in Colorado, dating back to more than 35 million years ago.

•Roses were considered the most sacred flowers in ancient Egypt and were used as offerings for the Goddess Isis ...

This beautiful ceiling is part of the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at The Strip. I swear this is the best part more than anything else in there lol. =D

Delta Arrowhead (Sagittaria platyphylla). A water plantain seen throughout the ditches and fresh water bayous and bogs around Houston, Texas. The leaves are more sword-like than the "arrow" shape found in Common Arrowheads. Not showy, the small, sequential 3-petal blooms sit atop knee-high stalks.
