Echidna, photographed very close to the wartime bunker I uploaded today. Actually, a very friendly monotreme - didn't mind at all that I was there.

If you visit the lake here at any another time of the year, the imprint of a former military life is easy to see. But it's different when the deep cold comes. The inorganic, engineered lakeshore becomes subdued by an organic world of ice, snow and mist.
Hope you had a good Monday.
This is a Dingbat type play on words, referencing the 'Glass Half Full/Empty' attitude to life. Here we have, Glass fullup-in two senses and Glass half left-in two senses.
I hadn't noticed at the time, but the mouth of the right hand glass has produced an optical illusion. The lower part of the glass is the front and the higher part is the back. But the brain finds it easier to see it the other way round; called bistable perception, I believe.
Great White Oak so big it required two separate shots... (A huge thanks to Edinburgh Nette for the framing idea!) Tree is set in valley of sorts in middle of several farm fields. It is almost alarming to come up over the ridge and be faced with such a massive tree.
"Cities were always like people, showing their varying personalities to the traveler. Depending on the city and on the traveler, there might begin a mutual love, or dislike, friendship, or enmity. Where one city will rise a certain individual to glory, it will destroy another who is not suited to its personality. Only through travel can we know where we belong or not, where we are loved and where we are rejected."

These critters are always full of personality and comical expressions. I love photographing them.
So I'm putting it all on the table
You don't know me well enough to label me
Sick, or even disturbed
When you break it down, I'm just two girls
Trying to blend, trying to vibe (Trying)
Trying to live just one life (So hard)
Everybody's got insanities, I got a split personality
Meerkats at Orana Wildlife Park are super cute and have been the focus of scientific research. Harewood, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Look in my eyes, what do you see?
The cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
I've been everything you want to be
I'm the cult of personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
I'm the cult of personality
The cult of personality
The cult of personality

Colorado is home to several different jays, including this one ... the Steller's jay. When perched in the trees with accompanying green leaves, throw in a little dabble of sunlight, and they are quite striking in their beauty. Males and females look similar. Steller's are known for their crest in their black head, as well as their gorgeous blue feathered bodies. I find them to be quite social in their nature, as they often present themselves to passerbys. Love the head tilt on this one. :-)

I didn't make it to the Valmoor punk party today, but some proof that I did put an outfit together for it.
These tiny Sanderlings run up and down the seashore foraging. They are a lot of fun to watch and photograph. What could be better than spending time at the beach :)
