A personal achievement.
A great high altitude acclimatization workout.
First time I climb the summit alone, even though I have people on the same trail, there was no closer contact. Each in its own time.
There was drizzle and a light rain.
Cloudy weather is part of mountaineering.
It's cool to see the blue sky, but getting there is much better.
Adrenaline is the maximum and free.

This is one of the seven Pink-eared Ducklings with a parent. The other six were foraging close by under the suprvison of the other adult. It's lovely to see them grow so healthy.

II know I spend far too much time trying to photograph blue jays. I find it a personal affront that they seek to do their best to hide behind the first layer of foliage when they fly away so you can't get their photo.
So, it was with great glee that I tracked this one into a tree where he thought he was invisible but he did not take into account the angle I had on him which gave me a tunnel through the leaves to where he was sitting.
By the way, did you spot the moth that he has captured?
One of my personal favorites from our recent trip to Alaska.
It was kind of hard to watch as the mom in the middle kept using her seniority/size to push the other two away from the sweet spot in the falls where the salmon more often made their run. It is always good to see determination and desire pay off for an underling!
