The blades of the mills, illuminated by the last light of the sunset, due to their movement, are diffused into a circle of light on which the shadow of the masts is cast.
Wind farm of @endesa in Hijate (Almería).
This particular evening had such an incredible sunset...made me think of the Angels and their golden harps!
~ Here we are, precisely in the middle of the year! Today is 15th June. The summer solstice approaches on 24th June; time to take stock. Some amazing things have already happened this year, and there are some truly amazing things yet to happen, Insh'Allah.
We are looking forward to good days to come: the most important Islamic month, Ramadhan, which starts towards the end of August, to the two Eid celebrations, and the wedding season in the UK, which blooms during the summer months (during the winters in Pakistan, even though I got married in the scorching Lahori May heat!).
Shaukat, a family friend, is holding his mehndi party this weekend in London, plans his nikah for the following weekend, then his walima on 5th July! Phew!
Summer is truly here!
And yes, I had to post this photo, the London Eye... I am a Londoner, and this is the quintessential London shot. There, I did it.
This was taken at Robert Rees park at the end of GreenKey Rd. in New Port Richey, Florida. 2-08. See my gallery at Zazzle
Bit of a boring one today, and they look quite ugly as far as birds go, but I was over the moon to see almost 100 turkey vultures flying over Hillman Marsh, Leamington, on the edge of Lake Erie one day. It took me quite a while to single one of them out for a detailed shot and it's not really all that great anyway lol. (Hillman Marsh is a conservation area visitwindsoressex.com/hillman-marsh-conservation-area/)
I happened to see a turkey vulture further north that soared right past me in Georgetown as I stood on Lynn's deck one morning, but he was so quick, I couldn't get him in focus LOL so I was pleased to get another one :)
Hope your week is going well, mine is flying! And if I don't hurry up this morning, I'm not going to have time for breakfast before I leave for work, eeek!
Thank you for the views, comments and faves... slowly I'm starting to catch up with some of you - take care all and have a great Wednesday :)
Just like life, the sky had two sides to it- two colors. In flew a bat almost at the mid line, as if dividing the sky in two halves - blue and orange !

It's better bigger and black.
I took this picture while traveling by car from Bilbao to Navarra without stopping the car. For instance, I was the copilot.

Tonights magnificent sunset from my favourite spot at Chapel Lane Wymondham.
No colour enhancement here, just me, Nikon and a little help from the Master upstairs!
Thanks to all my Flickr friends for your comments and best wishes over the last few weeks, I seem to be finally getting rid of this nasty Flu!
Went up to Tahoe for the V-Day weekend. Was really looking forward to this trip because of the snow and the beautiful nature of the mountains. Went snowshoeing 3X days in a row. This shot was on day 1 and was a result of getting up to the peak of the Tahoe Rim Trail @ Mt. Rose (North of the Lake). This downed tree with it's simple leaning branches caught my attention for at least an hour before I reached it with intention to photograph.
Just really enjoyed the main elements of Snow, Rock, Tree, and Sky! Does it get any better than that?? I think not. Processed both the Sky and then Snow/Rock/Tree sections separately with combination Layers/Masks in PS via layers.

Well I shot a wedding in Sacramento, a few weekends back (30Jan10), with some good friends who are additionally superb wedding photographers. Lots of photos, a hectic schedule, and lots learned within the 8hr shoot. This shot was actually taken as a result of Zo allowing us to stop on the way back from picking up the dogie from the Kennel the following Sunday morning.
This was a very hard photo to process. It is a multi-shot into the sun, and then the fun started with layers, selections, and masks to get the colors and the drama I was looking for. Hope you like the effects.

This photo just won 1st runner up in the Columbus Dispatch "Your Best Shot of Ohio 2009" Photo Contest.
Tim was driving down 23 and I thought I would get a picture of the sunset. Then I saw the barn up ahead. It was pure LUCK that I even got this picture. We were going 60 mph down the freeway and I rolled the window and got lucky. I love it!
The first balloon leaves the ground on Saturday afternoon's mini-balloon bonanza that happened a mile from my house - what a sight!
This was taken just as day was breaking over New Port Richey, Florida. the colors were so bright. Made EXPLORE 3-1-08 # 327. WOO HOO See my gallery at Zazzle
The Grand Bridge at Blenheim, seen from the Queen Pool part of the lake, with the 'Queen Elizabeth Island' and the old boating winch which, I think, was put there in the 19th century for boating. This is seen from the remains of the causeway that used to cross this area before the creation of the lake in order to reach the Woodstock Manor in which the future Queen Elizabeth I was imprisoned during part of the reign of her half sister Queen Mary.
I thought the light was absolutely exceptional, as you can see there were no clouds in the sky, and in addition the lake was very smooth too.
I don't very often go round by this part of the Park, however on this occasion there was an Aston Martin Rally at Blenheim; this meant that there were a lot of cars which were something of an intrusion into some of the Blenheim scenes (although the cars were pretty interesting!). Also at Blenheim on this day was one of the few remaining airworthy Spitfire aircraft, of which I have a photo on Flickr.
I have posted more photos from my visit to Blenheim on this day on my own site, see
