Pepperoni fork and shadow. Dada, Dadaism, Surrealistic movements.
Dada or Dadaism was an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th century, with early centres in Zürich, Switzerland, at the Cabaret Voltaire (1916). New York Dada began in 1915 and after 1920 Dada flourished in Paris. Dadaist activities lasted until the mid 1920s.
Developed in reaction to World War I, the Dada movement consisted of artists who rejected the logic, reason, and aestheticism of modern capitalist society, instead expressing nonsense, irrationality, and anti-bourgeois protest in their works. The art of the movement spanned visual, literary, and sound media, including collage, sound poetry, cut-up writing, and sculpture. Dadaist artists expressed their discontent toward violence, war, and nationalism, and maintained political affinities with radical left-wing and far-left politics.
There is no consensus on the origin of the movement's name; a common story is that the German artist Richard Huelsenbeck slid a paper knife (letter-opener) at random into a dictionary, where it landed on "dada", a colloquial French term for a hobby horse. Jean Arp wrote that Tristan Tzara invented the word at 6 p.m. on 6 February 1916, in the Café de la Terrasse in Zürich. Others note that it suggests the first words of a child, evoking a childishness and absurdity that appealed to the group. Still others speculate that the word might have been chosen to evoke a similar meaning (or no meaning at all) in any language, reflecting the movement's internationalism.
The roots of Dada lie in pre-war avant-garde. The term anti-art, a precursor to Dada, was coined by Marcel Duchamp around 1913 to characterize works that challenge accepted definitions of art. Cubism and the development of collage and abstract art would inform the movement's detachment from the constraints of reality and convention. The work of French poets, Italian Futurists and the German Expressionists would influence Dada's rejection of the tight correlation between words and meaning. Works such as Ubu Roi (1896) by Alfred Jarry and the ballet Parade (1916–17) by Erik Satie would also be characterized as proto-Dadaist works. Working on my Pizza Game...
I found a recipe which uses bread flour in the dough. Pizza came out great. Dough was rested for 48 hours. The secret to great dough texture is allowing it to rest for 12 to 48 hours.
This pizza dough was chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Recipe is a keeper!

DRD - "Pizzeria" A new release and one I certainly wasn't expecting but BAM here it is. Available now only at the Food Court event thru June 21st.
All the amazing and lighter toned textures are spot on. Seating in back, rooftop, access doors a plenty and of course fun animations. I dare say I could happily live in this pizzeria and have all the comforts of home but smell like pepperoni.

100% inspired by this beautiful piece of art I saw on tumblr a couple months ago by Vin Zzep.
I set out with my parents to shoot this photo last week, figuring we'd pick up the fish, fishbowl, and balloon on the way to the beach. Of course, it turned out way more complicated, and for a while it looked like we weren't going to find the supplies we needed.
A big thank you to the very kind man at the pet store, who sold us his last fishbowl that was exactly the one I needed to accomplish this shoot, and gave us water to use when we finally found our fish (everyone was out of goldfish). It is also apparently impossible to buy a single translucent balloon, so I now have about 73 left in the package I had to buy. And of course a shout out to the cutie inside the balloon, my buddy Pepperoni, who is now living a happy life with fishie friends at my dad's job.

For Macro Mondays, Berry on Berry, Blueberry on Pepperoni instead of cheese and olives as finger food. Honestly I would not have considered Pepperoni cucumber or water melons as berries. But there are as usual more then on definitions of a term, here Berries

Thin crispy pizza with loads of Hungarian pepperoni slices, jalapeno peppers and a crisp & tasty salad on top.
A large male polar bear approaching rather close to our SUV provides a good opportunity for a close-up. Ears pointed forward indicated curiosity (vs ears laid back which indicated aggression). I loved his huge feet. Bird Cove, Hudson's Bay, Churchill, Manitoba.

True story, actually. I had been eating a pepperoni pizza with my sunglasses hanging around my neck on a cord. A piece fell on one lens, and I failed to notice it. When I put my glasses back on, I seriously thought I'd suddenly gone blind in one eye. LOL It was long ago, when i was much sillier...
