Le "Rocher de l'Aigle", situé entre les villages de Porto da Cruz et Faïal, doit son nom aux aigles pêcheurs qui nichaient à son sommet.

The Sanctuary of the Penha is a unique example of religious architecture of Marques da Silva. In 1930, the recognized architect, a real “friend of the Penha", was entrusted of the project and the choice of the implantation local. The work of regularization of the land began on 6 August of that year.
Inaugurated in 1947, is a monument of a singular beauty and a worth architectural and religious. An emblematic piece of Guimarães.
This is the most important tourist point in Vila Velha, my city!! It's called Penha Convent.

When the evening before you decided to go (or drive) somewhere to shoot the sunset you never know what you will get.
Especially close to mountains or close to the see where the weather forecast is rarely reliable.
This morning I was driving to the top of the Pico Arieiro on Madeira and it certainly paid off.

Amigos desculpe por mais uma foto da Igreja da Penha, mas se notaram ontem eu nem entrei no flickr e hoje entrei agora rapidinho apenas para dar uma satisfação aos amigos e pedir desculpa pela falta nas visitas.
Como entrei rapido, peguei a primeira foto que estava na minha frente, não mexi em absolutamente nada nela, apenas coloquei o nome.
Essa é mais uma foto feita na alvorada, quero um dia fotografar a Lua Cheia por tras da Igreja, outro dia ela estava, mas quando peguei a camera o tempo que tava encoberto acabou cobrindo a lua e nao abriu por toda semana, mas um dia ainda pego ela pelo menos proximo da igreja.
