I used to try to avoid having people and buildings in landscapes. But then I discovered the work of Robert Adams and the New Topographics. I was convinced by the arguments of these photographers that the effects of human habitation were not only interesting, but critical in making judgments about environmental issues.

A while back, Greg, the old sock, posted a photo with what I found to be a weird hashtag. Democratic photography. I had no idea what that meant, so he had to explain it. It had everything to do with the American photographer William Eggleston, and it was not anything political, which was my first thought. Anywho, out walking in the rain at Skeppsbrokajen, in the old town yesterday, I thought this looked a little Egglestonesque.

I was apprehensive about posting this documention, with it being such a sensitive topic. But the support i have received is wonderful. • • • • • •
On the 26th of April 2019 I had breast reduction surgery. something I have wanted since a very young age.
My large breasts were taking over my life, always in discomfort feeling like these 'things' can't be mine.
People thinking they have a right to stare or comment on my body. Leaving me feeling extremely depressed.
Theses images I'm sharing with you are a documentation of my recovery process and is still ongoing. This is how I want to be seen when prior to the surgery I wished to never be seen so vulnerable.
But now I'm taking the power back
"Creo que es la misma cosa... con todo lo que tenemos en exceso hoy en día. Tenemos muchas cosas en exceso hoy. Y lo único que no tenemos suficiente, es tiempo. Algunos tenemos todo en exceso. Y tener todo en exceso, significa, no tener nada. Y el exceso de imágenes hoy significa... que no conseguimos prestar atención. No conseguimos emocionarnos con las imágenes. Y hoy las historias tienen que ser extraordinarias... para emocionarnos... pues no conseguimos más que ver historias simples. Más o menos, creo, esto va a suceder, y vamos a sentirnos cada vez más perdidos.
En primer lugar, perdidos de nosotros mismos. En segundo, perdidos en relación al mundo.
Acabamos de circular ahí... sin saber quienes somos... ni para qué servimos... ni cuál es el sentido de la existencia."
