There appeared to be plenty of good foraging on this buggy, seaweedy stretch of beach, but these two semipalmated sandpipers, part of a mixed flock that also included least sandpipers and a few semipalmated plovers, didn't seem to want to share. Southern Maine
I rarely do this kind of photography anymore but I was yearning for a little fun. When I was a kid PEEPs tasted fabulous, not anymore!
I'll catch up after being outside in the warm sun.
This is a verdin, a small desert-dwelling bird enjoying his time in a mesquite tree and using those thorns as a preening aid.
Juvenile Spotted Sandpiper. I had quite a time trying to capture this little one running along the lake shore.

This black squirrel was taken at the park across the White House observing tourists come and go as they visit one of the famous landmarks in DC and the world.
This is from about a foot outside my home-office window.
I don't see woodpeckers on this holly tree too often, so I can only assume it was watching me.
I hope Hoof and Horace were very quiet when they came around all of your properties on Monday evening and peeped through the window to see how many people were watching the last ever episode of Poldark which had many of its scenes filmed in Cornwall.🏡
Horace and Hoof were subcontracted by the BBC to count the number of viewers actually watching the programme, and I bet you all thought audience research figs were carried out by personnel with a clipboard in the street randomly asking people if they watched a certain programme, nope.📕📘📖
You see Hoof was the stunt double for Captain Ross Poldark’s horse Seamus, while Horace was employed by the BBC to advise on mining engineering principles, as you can imagine H went through quite a bit of dynamite.💥💥💥
So as H and H were in on the series and knew the outcome they were the obvious choice to do the head count.🐎🐷
It may surprise you, but give or take the odd one or two.
One hundred and fifty three million people, plus yes plus umpteen dogs, cats, parrots, budgerigars, lamas, hamsters, one rhinoceros, viewed the last ever episode and that was just in one house.😱
A thought for the weekend,
Don’t wait for an opportunity,
Create it😂😂😂
Thank you all for looking, I really appreciate all your comments on my images. Have a lovely weekend👍😎🍻🍻🍻🍷🍷🍷🐎🐷😂😂😂
Just as I was putting away the camera I tiurned around (always turn around) and saw this shot of the light shining through that little hole in the rock wall of the hoodoo. I loved how the trees were side lit as well with the warm light painting the background. Kris.......
