A pedestrian walkway, part of Chicago’s Pedway, passes between the two levels (Upper and Lower) of Randolph Street.
Freeway pedway at sunset — concrete and chainlink, above a roaring, six lane river of cars.

Chicago's best kept little secret is my expressway to Starbucks on the way into the office. Best of all, when I am not in the mood, I can escape the elements and people all jockeying for their space on the sidewalk.

There is a story behind this. I had planned a trip to London for my Local Camera Club and this picture was taken on this We had 12 in the group. One of out locations was the Highwalks near the Barbican. While researching this on the Internet I came across a reference to another relic of the mainly lost Highwalk system in the City of London. This is a little known link that leads directly from The Monument (to the Great Fire of London) to one of the best views in London – an elevated, river-bank view of Tower Bridge from the elevated plaza at St Magnus House. It passes through a couple of buildings, one on each side of Lower Thames Street, before opening out to a podium for the view, and a convenient staircase (ignored by the great majority that pass below it) that then drops directly down onto the Thames Path. The pathway and the Plaza are run by the City of London although you would assume from looking at them that they were private especially as they go through buildings.
The Plaza which is in front of St Magnus House, an Office Block is a good height above the Thames and as well as Tower Bridge it is opposite the Shard and very close to London Bridge. I have not seen other pictures from this viewpoint so it is nice to discover it. On our trip this was the last location of the day.
The picture was taken with a Sony A700 with a Tamron 18-300mm zoom at 35mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing for HDR. The picture was enhanced with HDR processing using fusion real estate setting in Photomatix for a natural look; Topaz and Photoshop were used to bring in more detail. More overall detail was brought in using Topaz Clarity.

Worst pinch point for me in the city. Heights plus limited escape routes — my 2 very unfavourite things. Also looks like a metal esophagus, if you ask me.
Dark metal pedway.

This was another one taken on my last London visit late November. This was a trip I organised and led for the Bognor Regis Camera Club. This was called London Architecture and Night Photography and 12 took part. I had discovered this high viewpoint when researching the remains of the City Pedway or high pedestrian walkways. One of these leads from Monument to the River Bank to this public viewpoint with views of both London Bridge and Tower Bridge. It is also accessed via concrete stairs from the Thames Path a short way east of London Bridge
I think this image really demonstrates how a city comes alive at night with the lights, reflections and colour. This was especially so on this day when daylight was thick cloud and very flat light. There was some more interest with the bus light trails going across the bridge. Looking at the fastest exposure of the 3 taken for HDR there were 3 buses going across the bridge. For the longer 0EV image the buses had blurred together. When processing for HDR in Photomatix I selected the top of the bridge as an area having movement and directed the software to use the 0EV image for that area when blending the 3 images.
The picture was taken with a Sony A68 with a Sigma 10-20 zoom at 13mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing for HDR. The picture was enhanced with HDR processing using contrast optimiser setting in Photomatix for a natural look; Topaz clarit was used for more detail and then Topaz Denoise. In Photoshop Edit-Transform- Distort was used to straighten the Shard and other buildings which were in the original leaning over due to the wide angle and perspective distortion cause by the cameras upward angle. The building on the left of the bridge didn’t look quite right still so I selected it to apply the edit only to that part and then used Transform – Skew to correct it. 2 cranes were removed with the heal and clone tools just because I hate cranes

Beautiful Lake Elizabeth on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was a bit on the breezy side, though. There was quite a lot of people here since it was the weekend. It was also Chinese New Year this day. This is a lovely, family-friendly park with a beautiful lake. This is at Central Park (Lake Elizabeth) located around Fremont, CA. I was with my cousin at this time. I was bontaying her while she did her errands this afternoon lol. (Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2017; 3:43 p.m.)
More about this park/lake:
Located in the heart of Fremont, CA, Central Park (Lake Elizabeth) offers a variety of activities with a gorgeous view of the Mission Peak Hills and Lake Elizabeth. Central Park is set on 450+ acres with an 80+ acre lake and 2 mile pedway around the lake. The park has much to offer including reserved picnic sites, drop-in picnic sites, children’s play areas, basketball, tennis, fishing, skate park, a seasonal waterpark, boat rentals, launches and more!
Underground tunnel - It's almost like " please move along ladies & gentlemen we will be lifting off soon, next colonizer 2 Alpha Centauri lift off in 2 days "
I am so totally geeked that the Chicago Cultural Center has an elevator whose sole purpose is to bring people to the underground of Chicago.
I was in Macy's cafeteria and decided to take a different way out. On my way I passed a decent looking sports bar called "insiders" (decent for being in the basement of Macy's). And then the non-descript corridor went by a few weird shops, a Subway sandwich place, and then there was this elevator that said, "Elevator to Chicago Cultural Center."
Uh Excuse me?
Certainly this sign could not be telling the truth. I love riding different elevators. So I took this one wondering where in the world it would drop me off in the Cultural Center. The elevator slowly rose up, and then paused and nothing. I thought I was stuck. In an unknown elevator. Good thing I have a mozzarella cheese sandwich for sustenance. A few seconds later when I thought I was going to be stranded forever and ever, the elevator continued rising a little bit more.
The doors opened up and there was the north lobby of the Cultural Center! Talk about twilight zone experience! Talk about transformers space bridge! There I was. Standing right at the entrance of the Cultural Center. I exclaimed out loud, "WOW! THAT WAS TOTALLY WEIRD!" A couple sitting in the chairs by the elevator looked up from their books and then looked back down.
I took a few photos even though those chair people readers were in my way. I didn't care. I wanted a photo of the this space bridge elevator. Then the helper dude at the helper dude desk looked kinda bored, and i looked kinda excited. So I went over to him to exclaim my delight. He became equally delighted and shared with me that there is a Chicago Pedway Tour every Saturday. So going on THAT!

Footbridge crossing in New Westminster. They are lighting more and more bridges like this. It was a very busy place on a summer night waited for people to clear.
