ANY FORM OF ART IS A FORM OF POWER; IT HAS IMPACT, IT CAN AFFECT CHANGE – IT CAN NOT ONLY MOVE US, IT MAKES US MOVE.”

Penmon lighthouse viewed from across the vast colourful pebbled beach on Anglesey in Wales. There are so many things to photograph here, an amazing place.

An August sunset view of Lake Superior from Pebble Beach, located in Marathon, Ontario. The sky was beginning to clear in the west after a series of thunderstorms had passed through.
Three small pebbles from my garden path, carefully stacked (and stacked, and restacked until they would stay put) on a black plate. Add water, a ring light, some aluminum foil as a reflector and MAGIC!

Each by each,
As pebbles are smoothed on the rolling beach.”

Pebbles
As a general rule, geologists perceive all stones and pebbles as rocks, but not all rocks are considered stones (or pebbles). A pebble is a small stone that has had its edges smoothed by water erosion.
Inuksuk (also spelled inukshuk, plural inuksuit) is a type of stone landmark or cairn a figure made of piled stones or boulders constructed to communicate with humans throughout the Arctic. Traditionally constructed by the Inuit, inuksuit are integral to Inuit culture and are often intertwined with representations of Canada and the North. A red inuksuk is found on the flag of Nunavut. In Inuktitut, the term inuksuk means "to act in the capacity of a human."

« Pebbles » signifie Galets en français. « Les Galets » (The Pebbles) désignent un ensemble d’anciennes installations de pêche situé dans le petit village de Natashquan sur la côte Nord du fleuve St-Laurent au Québec. C’est la troisième image que je consacre à cet endroit qui a été témoin de la vie simple mais difficile des pêcheurs de Natashquan. Leur histoire qui m’a profondément ému. (Patrice)

Les Galets (The Pebbles in french) designate a set of old fishing facilities located in Natashquan, a little village settled on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec. Les Galets have witnessed the simple, but difficult life of the fishermen of Natashquan. Their story moved me deeply. (Patrice)
Pebbles In Mono, another shot taken just before christmas of the rocks at Parton where i found these two pebbles set perfectly on the larger rock.

Terra rossa terra nera,
Tu vieni dal mare,
dal verde riarso
dove sono parole
antiche e fatica sanguigna
e gerani tra i sassi _
tu dura e dolcissima
parola...
giovane come un frutto
che è ricordo
stagione, _
non sai quanto porti
di mare parole e fatica.
Tu ricca come un ricordo
come la brulla campagna
il tuo fiato riposa
sotto il cielo di agosto
le olive del tuo sguardo
addolciscono il mare,
e tu vivi rivivi
senza stupire,
certa come la terra,
buia come la terra,
frantoio di stagioni e
di sogni....
Cesare Pavese, poesie tratte da, 'La terra e la morte'
