This was a long drive that we obviously have done twice now because we got lost last time. We cut through peoples camps with disregard to get the shot. Nobody was harmed getting the shot, but it was a rough road..

The peach (Prunus persica) is a deciduous tree native to the region of Northwest China between the Tarim Basin and the north slopes of the Kunlun Mountains, where it was first domesticated and cultivated. It bears an edible juicy fruit called a peach or a nectarine.

The specific name persica refers to its widespread cultivation in Persia (modern-day Iran), from where it was transplanted to Europe. It belongs to the genus Prunus which includes the cherry, apricot, almond and plum, in the rose family. The peach is classified with the almond in the subgenus Amygdalus, distinguished from the other subgenera by the corrugated seed shell. Prunus persica grows up to 7 m tall and wide. However, when pruned properly, trees are usually 3–4 m tall and wide. The leaves are lanceolate, 7–16 cm long, 2–3 cm broad, pinnately veined. The flowers are produced in early spring before the leaves; they are solitary or paired, 2.5–3 cm diameter, pink, with five petals. 5148

Peach blossoms covered with a snow.

I bought this little peach tree as a bare root. It was hard to imagine that this stick, with no visible signs of life, would become anything other than kindling. However, it has flourished and is now covered in the most beautiful blossom.

"She was so nice and cared about me, no one else did

Literally, I don't think I've ever felt love before that

She's a peach... scone"

A very pretty climbing, peach coloured rose that I have in the garden. Looking fresh and perky after some rain.

Thank you for leaving kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HSoS

The peaches in my greenhouse are now ready for picking. The root is grown outside the greenhouse and the branches are trained along vertical and horizontal caines inside. I usually harvest a couple of dozen. They are flavoursome, sweet and juicy. A napkin to hand is essential 😇

Hope everyone is having a great day, My Friends! Thank you for stopping by.*-*

For Friday flora (Freitagsblumchen)

My first blossom from my Peach tree.

I love when watertowers make artistic representation like this. I'm always on the look out for them.
